We have been coming here for the past 7 years. We have stayed in a different cabin every time. This year we brought our adult children and they loved it. George and Joan are great, we have gotten to know them. The cabins are awesome, clean, and so much better than a hotel. I love being on the river and in the mountains. Seeing Elk, deer, turkeys, and even bears. I look forward to coming every year. Thanks, George and Joan.

After only a few hours at Pine Haven Resort, the quaint compound of cabins already felt like home. Within that time, we were greeted by residents of several surrounding cabins - all of them repeat guests - and by a small community of chipmunks and squirrels, looking for peanut handouts as is custom at Pine Haven.

Of the cluster of cabins, we had one with an antiques theme, small but comfortable with everything we might need - down to the marshmallow skewers for s'mores! It was very clean and every detail was in keeping with the theme.

The resort backs up to Rocky Mountain National Park, so a steep trail between cabins 4 and 5 takes you to a meadow that provides breathtaking views, and then into the park where you can meet up with well-marked trails. We wished we had explored it earlier, as we got up to the meadow in the late morning and saw recent evidence of deer, elk and more wildlife that we might have been able to spot had we gone earlier in the morning.

If you choose to drive into the park, the location is ideal. It's about a 3 minute drive to the entrance to the park, which we visited each of the three days we were there. And its only about that long the other direction to a shopping center in Estes Park that has a Safeway and liquor store.

After the first day, every member of our family pledged to be back soon, including our almost teenage girl. And that's a pretty strong testament in itself!

Pine Haven is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The cabins are spotless clean and comfortable, not to mention the rustic decor is beautiful. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Scenery is gorgeous. I didn't want to leave. We'll definitely stay here again if we return to Estes Park.

We love staying in authentic cabins when we visit National Parks and Pinehaven was great. Cut cabin (Aztec) and lots of sitting areas to be outside among the pine. Not only do you get a front porch, but a back deck on you cabin for outdoor dining. Pinehaven cabins are also farther away from the road to the park from some of the other choices along the river. Joan and George are great hosts. During our stay, there was an impromptu five-piece ensemble concert, and a wine hour with other guests. The hot tub is also great after a long day of hiking. Pinehaven has incredible character and you won't be disappointed in choosing this for your stay in Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park.

These cabins are exactly as we anticipated based on reviews and the property's own descriptions. Ours was "Black Bear" and it was great. We were seeking lodging with some "mountain" character as opposed to luxury; and we were more interested in a cabin type of setting than hotel. This place fit our needs perfectly. Our cabin was very clean and had everything we needed plus was cute with quirky decor. We enjoyed the private deck area where we ate some meals. George, the owner, was very nice and helpful. We loved that you could take a hike right from the property, and although we weren't there long enough to make use of everything, the sitting areas by the river as well as the grill area were very inviting. Pine Haven is conveniently located just outside the busy part of Estes, so it is a nice quiet setting but you can quickly get to the grocery or wherever. We thought it was great!

Room Tip: We didn't book far enough in advance to get one of the larger cabins as we might have chosen, bu...

Our entire family stayed in two cabins for a special 30 year anniversary celebration. It was perfect! The campground was clean and full of fun for all ages. Located close to both Estes Park and RMNP made it easy to tour. Always coming back to the campground for relaxation and fun. The owners, George & Joan, took time to meet and greet us. They had a party with cotton candy, music, wine and fun for all. Cool mountain air made sleeping fantastic. The cabins were like mini homes, with everything we needed included. Decorated with cabin themes, fun and authentic. We enjoyed the hot tub, grills, decks, front porch, river, hiking trail, games.....everything was terrific! We all plan to return! It would be a great annual trip. Thanks Pine Haven!

I stayed there in July with my two sons, ages 9 & 10. The kids loved the place. The cabins were great. The boys loved the trails, the river, just everything about it. It is close to town and Rocky Mountain National Park. George and his family are wonderful hosts. To top it off the boys got to play in a bouncy house they inflated while we were there. I would highly recommend staying there. We will def be back in the future.
