“Rustic, enjoyable stay in the canyon..”
Reviewed August 1, 2009

Our family recently stayed in one of the cabins. We found the cabin a bit rustic, but nicely kept and clean. Plenty of room for all, and the heater warmed us in the mornings.. The river rustling by just outside the cabins was awesome!! (as was the cluster of hummingbirds at the feeder..) The owner was very friendly & helpful. Not for you if you expect room service at the Hilton, but is a nice relaxing place to enjoy the surroundings.

Stayed 6 nights. Cabins are right on the Big Thompson River. Some cabins have decks right on the river. You can fish from your deck. Cabins are fully stocked. Located 3 or 4 miles from downtown Estes Park. Temperatures dropped into the 40's several night but only turned the furnace on for about 2 hours our last morning. Bed was very comfortable. Wireless internet service. Charcoal grills and picnic tables provided. Very friendly staff.

This was a great location. My family enjoyed staying here. Great having a cabin with a deck over the river. My son fished everyday and we all enjoyed playing in the water and just relaxing by the river. Would definately stay here again to relax and enjoy the area.

Our stay at Loveland Heights was awesome. The river was right at our back door and we enjoyed listening to the cascading water from our deck, our bedroom, our bathroom and along the property trail. It truly was very peaceful and such an enjoyable stay. We stayed in a single unit cabin the first two nights and took advantage of the grill on the porch for a few of our dinners. The kitchen was nicely equipped with everything we needed (and more if we had wanted.) The third evening we stayed in a duplex, which was again, fully equipped and very clean. Although the cabins are not extremely modern, they were very clean, tidy and comfortable. Our neighbors enjoyed fishing and catching rainbow trout while we enjoyed the peaceful scenery, the birds, the jumping fish, boulders, pine trees and a beautiful view of the stars in the evening. We were a couple minute drive from downtown Estes, making our stay very convenient, but nicely tucked away from the higher traffic in the city.

We were referred by some family members who had recently stayed and were lucky enough to find a vacancy. I would definitely refer this place to my friends and family for a great value and enjoyable, friendly place to stay.

This is a great little place to stay, it is away from the crouds but just close enought to enjoy the town. If you are looking for fancy and luxury then this is not the place, but if you want a quite getaway then this is the place. It has cute little vintage cottages right on the river, we really enjoyed sitting on the back deck and watching and hearing the river stream. At night it was really relaxing to lay in bed with the breeze through the windows and the sound of running water from the river. The cabin was furnished with all the items we needed to cook. The ladies that run this place are great, we enjoyed talking to them and they went as far as giving us coffee and cream for our first morning there (we forgot to bring it) We would recommend this place. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

My significant other and I stayed for 5 days in one of the studio cabins. The cabin was minimalist, but comfortable nontheless. The Big Thompson River is literally right off the deck, and each night we were treated to falling asleep to the sounds of bubbling water....

The only things that we wished were different is the fact that all water from the cabin is well water, which in this area is very iron-heavy (thus tastes horrible, hard on the skin/hair), so bring plenty of 1-gallon water jugs. Also, the pilot lights in the living room space heater and ovens consistently were blowing out unless we closed all the windows (which was not feasible due to the time of year). Otherwise, the linens were clean, and we were able to trade in used towels/linens/etc. whenever we needed them.

Aside from these minor discomforts, overall we were very happy staying here. The price is right, the location is immediately outside of Estes Park, and the locale is gorgeous! The management (who took over again in 2008 after some time away from the cabins) was very helpful, and eager to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We are already planning a return trip next year! I would definitely recommend these cabins to anyone who is comfortable with fending for themselves with regard to a few amenities....

A quiet motel/cottage that was equiped from a thoughtout plan. With a deck over the Big Thompson river we sat outside while the dusk poked fingers into the quiet canyon.Comfortable beds, hot showers, stove, ref. everything for the weary traveler. The staff was very helpful, the owner affable. With a good restaurant only a few miles off, I can think of no better way to end a day. I will definately stay there again next year.
