“Wish we'd stayed longer!”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We had the most brilliant three night stay here 5 - 8 June and really wish we had booked to stay longer! Our apartment was perfect for two. We loved the large jacuzzi in the bedroom and the living area was comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. The outside deck and garden right next to the river were perfect, shielded from the road (on the other side of the river) by mature trees and from other units by shrubs and fences. It was so relaxing to sit by the fast flowing river with a glass of wine and just take in the unforgettable view. Ken & Kathy, the managers, were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.

There was a magnificent elk and his family who seemed to be regular visitors. They came each evening and we were thrilled to see the picture pefect image of the male framed in our patio window on the night when we were packing to leave - and our camera batteries were on charge!.... so it really is the tale of the 'one that got away' but a sight we will never forget.

Estes Park is a delightful little town and has all you need for a self catering stay (don't forget to ask for a loyalty card at Safeway to obtain all the discounts!) and a wide choice of places to eat. However, we barbecued every night on our patio and couldn't have been happier.

I believe that there are lots of walks nearby without having to enter Rocky Mountain National Park, whose entrance is just down the road from Bear Paw,but we chose to visit the Park. We hiked the trail from Bear Lake up to Emerald Lake where we were surprised to be knee deep in snow and to find the lake frozen. Absolutely beautiful! We also had a close encounter with a friendy marmot! A rare sighting in the area according to the Rangers.

This break was part of a self drive tour of Colorado and we just can't fault it. On our way to Glenwood Springs we drove right through the Park on the Trail Ridge Road which afforded magnificent views, and the experience of driving along a mountain top should not be missed! The Old Fall River Road was still closed however because of snow.

We can wholeheartedly recommend Bear Paw. It is a perfect base and RMNP has so much to offer. We can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: All ground floor rooms look good. Some larger units also have an upstairs. We did not have an end...

This is the best cabin or hotel stay I have ever been to. The last time I went there was two years ago in May. I still remember how spacious the cabin was and how beautiful the scenery was. I took my parents there. We stayed two nights and we BBQ in front of the river. Inside the cabin has a large window glass so you are able to enjoy the awe nature sightings from the cabin inside. The next day we walked around, we saw bunch of wild animals....this is totally different than in California. I really would like to visit this place again.....River Stone is just breath-taking~

Room Tip: Remember to check out the front so you can fish. But I do think you need the license for that!

This was our first time to Estes Park and Bear Paw Suites and we had a wonderful time. We stayed two nights in Bear Paw No. 5 and it was perfect for us. The kids enjoyed having their own "loft" bedroom with TV (a big treat for them), and I enjoyed having my own room downstairs. Very clean place with an amply supplied kitchen for cooking (and saving money).

Bear Paw is on the quieter west side of Estes Park, only a few minutes from an entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The owners could not have been friendlier, and even had a nice library of free DVDs you could check out. We will definitely be back!

This was our first visit to Riverstone and we were very impressed. The room was spacious and sparkling clean. The location can't be beat as you can be in the National Park in about 5 minutes. Having a full kitchen is very helpful and helps to save $$'s on food cost.

My best friend and I spent a long weekend at Bear Paw and had a wonderful time! The location is perfect. A beautiful line of trees and a running creek served as a barrier between the buildings and the road (something many other properties lacked). The staff was so sweet and helpful, and we really enjoyed borrowing VHS movies from their library. Yes, DVDs were available, but we were feeling nostalgic! On our first afternoon there, we were greeted by a majestic elk, resting on the hill beside the parking area. A group of 3 or 4 of them were outside by the creek each morning. It was quite a treat. The amenities were great as well. The room was very spacious, and we were glad to be able to open the windows for a mountain breeze. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare a meal, and the outdoor grill was clean and had a full propane tank. I highly recommend Bear Paw to anyone looking for a relaxing place to enjoy the mountains!

Room Tip: If you get a room downstairs, you may wake up with an elk on you patio :)

This was our second visit to Bear Paw in two years. This time we did not get an end unit which we had the first time. But it really didn't matter, we absolutely loved our condo and our backyard! Again the management cared very much about our stay and when our cable went out-during a big football game they were right on it. However, it seemed to only be the station and it came back on within 10 minutes. The condos are clean and very comfortable, updated so you don't feel like you are in the 90's. I would definitely recommend to friends and I have many times! Fall river is so beautiful and to be right on it is just perfect! We did not see any wildlife on property this time but last time we practically stood next to a huge fox before realizing it wasn't a dog!

We recently stayed with another couple. The condo we stayed in was perfect!!!! The unit was clean, very comfortable, and the kitchen was furnished with everything needed. It was a bonus to have a washer/dryer in the unit. We will definitely keep this in mind next time we go to Estes Park.
