“Home Away From Home”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

We stayed at Riverstone this past week and wish we could still be there. To begin with, the property is picturesque-lined with alpine tress and surrounded by Fall River and mountains covered with lavender plants that fill the air at night with a soft scent. At night you can see all the stars you miss living in the city and fall asleep to the relaxing sounds of the river flow. Inside, our unit was nicely decorated with bear accents and wildlife throws. They have all of the comforts of home, including a washer and dryer. If by chance you need anything else, I'm sure you can ask the owners-who are exceptionally pleasant and accommodating. Last but not least, the property is perfectly located-a 3 min. drive to the Fall River entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, Safeway grocery store and downtown Estes Park. You can't ask for anything more!!

We stayed at Bear Paw Suites for the first time on October 21-23,2011. We were definitely impressed and will return. We stayed in #6 - it was bigger than what we needed, only requested the 1 bedroom, but those were all booked when we made our reservation. The condo was wonderfully clean and comfortable - everything we needed and more! Some elk came and welcomed us as we were settling in. Managers were friendly. It was a wonderful weekend that we didn't want to end - so glad I found out about this place on TripAdvisor and was definitely NOT disappointed!

Room Tip: #6 is on the end of the complex - all the rooms are "on the river" - was very quiet and co...

This is our second stay at Bear Paw Suites and we cannot say enough about this place. The people who run it are some of the friendliest people we have met and the facilities are some of the best in Estes Park. We stayed in a two bedroom condo.(we called ahead of time and they even gave us the same one we had on our previous stay. Having a separate room upstairs is great for our kids. They have their own bathroom and tv if they want to relax on their own. Everything you need is in the kitchen and the place in extremely clean. Also it is just minutes from down town and Rocky Mountain National Park. We can't say enough great things about the facilities and we will definitely be staying here again on our next visit.

Bear Paw wa a great place to stay. The units front on the fall river. They were nicely furnished and the managers were friendly, helpful and accomodating. We were there for five nights and would not hesitate to go back.

Our family spent six nights at River Stone in early September and we could not have been happier. We have traveled to Estes Park many times over the years and stayed in a variety of places. In recent years, we've stayed in condos along this stretch of Fall River Road. They're all pretty nice but River Stone was the nicest so far. The entire facility is spotlessly clean. The 2-bedroom condo we rented held my wife and I on a king bed downstairs with a full bath and in-room Jacuzzi. Our three adult children stayed upstairs, with the two girls in a queen and our son in a single. They also had a full bath upstairs. The living room and kitchen are nicely appointed. We like to cook together as a family. This kitchen had more and better equipment than most places we have stayed. Each unit has a gas grill on the deck.

The location is west of Estes on the road to the north entrance to RMNP. It's a lovely spot, with our ground-level entrance opening right onto the Fall River. Just beyond that is a road, which creates a little noise, but the gurgling river drowns most of it out. Plenty of trees and mountains any which way you look.

We hiked in the park every day and came back to River Stone by mid-afternoon to unwind with snacks and a few beers on the porch. One day, a huge elk (I counted 12 points on the antlers), wondered onto the property for some snacking and posing for pictures. From a safe distance, of course.

Check in was a breeze. The unit was completely ready. Housekeeping was flawless. One minor equipment problem was fixed in a matter of hours with no hassle.

The only complaint is that the wireless Internet was really balky and slow. We had a strong signal at all times, but the speed varied all the time back and forth. Not sure why that happened because signal strength from the nearest router was always strong.

For those considering a trip to Estes and RMNP - I can't say enough about how beautiful the park is. Filled with hikes from easy to really challenging. You decide. The town itself is quaint. We've been going so many years now, we really know our way around and feel like we're coming home.

The Riverstone location was outstanding -- minutes from the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance and equally quick to get into Estes Park for dinner and shopping. The townhome was very convenient and comfortable. We found it to be clean, well-stocked and perfectly situated about 6 feet from a rushing river. The owners were friendly, and the small resort was clean and pleasant.

Great stay in August 2011. The condo was clean and comfortable and mere minutes to RMNP gate. Loved having morning coffee and evening drinks down by the river. We requested unit 6 based on reviews here and it was great. The only downside were the frying pans were old and ruined our breakfasts and the upstairs beds were not good. Also there is not enough room in the master for storage of clothes...only one dresser and no end tables. Also, you can hear traffic during the day on the road but the river drowns it out when you are down there. The patio and grounds were great. Would definitely stay again!
