I went to a small one night, one day conference here. The facility is good for group meetings. Local restaurants are easily accessible by foot or a short drive. Superb views are everywhere. Parking is easy. It's especially convenient if you want to avoid the noise and bustle of downtown Estes Park.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side are near the pool.

I spent a night at the Coyote Lodge as part of a business retreat . They couldn't have picked a better location - it was easy to find and in a great location that's far enough away from the touristy hustle-and-bustle for peace and quiet but just a few minutes away from downtown and about 10 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park.

It reminded me of the hotels my parents found crossing the country when we were kids - not too big, not too small, genuinely nice local staff. A little piece of Americana nestled in the Rocky Mountains.

The rooms are nice, the pool is clean, there's lots of parking, and what an incredible view of town from the back! Highly recommend.

Hi! Thank you so much for your very nice review! We are very pleased that you had a great stay. As you may already know we purchased this property in 2012 and have been working hard to update it. It's been a fun project and it's because of guests like you that we really enjoy our jobs. Please do visit us again, I see you're from Boulder, and hopefully you'll notice more improvements soon!

My wife and I come to Estes Park a lot and love the area. We just stayed at the Coyote Mountain Lodge on Big Thompson Avenue, and were very pleasantly surprised. This refurbished lodge was such a delightful place from the moment you checked in; friendly staff, charming and clean rooms, incredible views and close to everything! And it was easy on the wallet, too—which you don't often get in this popular tourist town. We talked with one the owners and you could tell that they took great pride in providing a excellent experience for their guests. I highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Amazing value. Great for events, too.

This was our favorite hotel on a two week vacation. Nice warm pool and Jacuzzi and the nicest hotel staff I've ever met. They made it feel like you were staying with friends and there were always at least two staff members around to help you, even in the evening when you are lucky to find one person at the front desk of most hotels. The only bad thing was the bathrooms in the discounted rooms were very small, but for the price of those rooms it was worth it. A great value in an overpriced town.

Room Tip: The unrenovated discounted rooms have very small showers but the price is excellent.

Hi! Thanks for your very nice review. We love getting feedback especially ones that comment about our nice staff. That is probably the MOST important compliment we can receive from a guest. We purchased this property last year and have been working tirelessly to upgrade it. We also want to keep everything on a budget level to give visitors an economic option in this busy resort town.
Do come back if you're ever in Estes again and hopefully you'll see even more improvements and the same helpful staff!

In most ways we had a great stay. But we certainly agreement that te photo's of the rooms are a bit misleading.
The room we got was so small, bathroomdoor didn't close well, it had to be shut with alot of force.
But the staff was so friendly.
Also a very good king bed in the room. And the view from the room was also Nice. Good to mention is that it is really quiet at night...what more do we want.
Hopefully they will update the rooms.

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to send us your feedback. We're very pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we read every review carefully to help us know where we can improve!

We have around 20 different room types in different price ranges and under various stages of remodeling. Since we had a limited number of photos to take and post we chose our very best ones that represented the direction in which we are rapidly heading. We do also have photos of our vintage or retro rooms posted as well.

We have a dozen bathrooms scheduled for remodeling this winter as well as more improvements for the bedrooms. Do come back and check us out if you're back in Estes Park!

Came to Estes Park for a wedding and reserved rooms here well in advance as it was prime time for hikers and prices were high. This was lowest by far and we just needed a clean place for the short stay. We were very pleasantly surprised. Place was exceptionally clean. The place was really quiet. We needed a few things like hair drier and iron and the staff had those to us in a second. What really stands out is the friendliness of the staff, all of the staff. All were someone you'd like to have taking care of your wants anywhere you might stay. When back to Estes Park, we will stay at one of the two hotels these people own. Bill Pinkerton, Medina, Ohio

We had similar issue as a previous reviewer, we booked a room that was renovated only to found out it wasn't and no discount was offered. Having said that, we were given opportunity to check the room out the moment we tried to check in. We decided to take it as, it was similar to what was pictured (ie the renovated rooms).

I saw a room being renovated and to be honest, the bedding might have been upgraded but the main change was carpet. The ac unit appeared identical to ours so not sure how different the stay would have been. The 70s furniture (desk, chair, and armchair all remained too)

The place is old, built in the 70s and furniture in the room is as pictured. It's a budget accommodation as stated in the website. They are trying to upgrade it seems. Whatever you need the hotel staff will try and provide so I can sense they do mean well and trying to keep your stay happy.

The bathroom is tiny. and could be re-glazed as there were chips and towel bars could be added. There was no place to hang a towel as the hooks have fallen off, which leaves you with damp towels wherever you place them. Nothing dried in the room so I didn't like that part. I think there was room service but our room wasn't tidied up but you can ask for fresh towels and they drop it off quickly.

The bed was comfortable, sheets were old, there were small tears here and there but not scratchy, super bleached sheets either. THe pillows were very soft so you need to sleep with 2.

The noise levels, well let's say if your neighbours woke up at 6am to have a shower, you'll hear it. loud and clear. So regardless of upgraded room or not, the walls are thin and shower systems are loud.

We didn't use the AC or Heat so cant comment on noise levels. It was cold at night and we were ok with the temp inside. Both ac/heat units were 70s/80s like . There was a microwave and fridge in unit.

We noticed that there were other lodges that had vacancies so if you decide budget accommodation is not your thing, there are other options available in the town. I guess it all depends on when you arrive.
