Description: Built in 1937 as a dance hall for the Big Band Era, The Rock Inn continues to be a lively gathering place with local flair. In the winter, our two wood-burning stoves keep the room toasty for folks stopping in for a beer or a bite after playing in Rocky Mountain National Park. During the summer season we enjoy stunning continental divide views from our outdoor dining patio. Our menu is an ever evolving blend of hand-crafted, hearty comfort food with a health and planet conscious twist. We aim to fill you up with goodness so you can get back to enjoying the mountains again tomorrow. We feature Gold Canyon Natural Gourmet Angus Beef, All-Natural Colorado chicken, fresh salads, whole grains, organic teas and coffees, local beers, sustainable produced wines, and a full bar. On occasional nights after dinner, we set-up one of many original Colorado bands on our nearly 80 year old stage, clear the dance floor and boogie all night. Some of the bands playing these days include Chain Station.

We drove past this place the first evening we were in town and cars were everywhere. It seemed to be THE place in that part of town. It was also about happy hour time, and it was called a tavern, so we did not consider it as a dining spot. Luckily the manager at our lodge recommended it because of its diverse menu. It became our second favorite place in the area.

Whether one considers it a tavern with a great restaurant, or a restaurant with a great bar, one cannot go wrong by stopping in for drinks or dinner. Entertainment is apparently a regular feature, and the nights we were there it was good entertainment.

We did table service one night and ate at the bar the second night. Both experiences were good, but bar dining can be fun. While having dinner, we met and visited with several different diners waiting for a table. The Inn does not take reservations so the bar tables and bar are usually busy, which allows one to schmooze with locals and other visitors while enjoying a beverage or a meal.

Everything we sampled was great, and I heartily recommend you give it a try.

We are yearly visitors to Estes Park and our second visit to the Rock Inn. We enjoy the relaxed, casual atmosphere, but must of all it's the food that brought us back. They have a wide variety of menu items to please just about anyone's taste. I highly recommend the Rock Inn if you are anywhere near Estes Park.

Good food, good live music. Cozy and warm from the thunderstorm outside the night we were there. Great burger!

Came here while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. Spouse loved the stroganoff so much, we had to come back a second time so she could have again. All the food we tried was good, and they have a fairly significant drink menu with some local craft beer and whiskey thrown in as well. The live music both nights was enjoyable and not so loud that it disrupted dinner conversation. Definitely recommend

If this is your kind of thing, its just perfect. Estes Park is full of tourist restaurants with very average food and corny tourist decor, but this place is outside of town, and the real deal, built in 1937. All logs and wood, with wood stove and slab tables. Not cheap, but not a tourist trap - a clue is the large number of locals crowding the place. Our steak was superb, and perfectly prepared. The salads and sides are pretty average, but don't come here to eat salad. Yes, parking is a problem, and once inside there will probably be a pretty long wait, but to me it's worth it. Luckily we were here on a Tuesday, so we didn't have to listen to a singer songwriter play while we tried to have a conversation. (They have musicians every Wednesday thru Sunday). I'm sure they are all fine performers if you like that sort of thing, but its not necessary, the atmosphere and the food are just fine as they are, I am looking forward to going again.
