We drove past this place the first evening we were in town and cars were everywhere. It seemed to be THE place in that part of town. It was also about happy hour time, and it was called a tavern, so we did not consider it as a dining spot. Luckily the manager at our lodge recommended it because of its diverse menu. It became our second favorite place in the area.
Whether one considers it a tavern with a great restaurant, or a restaurant with a great bar, one cannot go wrong by stopping in for drinks or dinner. Entertainment is apparently a regular feature, and the nights we were there it was good entertainment.
We did table service one night and ate at the bar the second night. Both experiences were good, but bar dining can be fun. While having dinner, we met and visited with several different diners waiting for a table. The Inn does not take reservations so the bar tables and bar are usually busy, which allows one to schmooze with locals and other visitors while enjoying a beverage or a meal.
Everything we sampled was great, and I heartily recommend you give it a try.
