Located just a couple of miles from the Rocky mountain national park I think this place is a gem. Quiet, peaceful and fair prices make it a great choice for small romantic get aways

“Very disappointing.”
Reviewed August 16, 2009

We veered from our TripAdvisor-approved Top 10 list in Estes because we saw a menu that looked good. Big mistake. The food was terrible. My husband got the elk stew, which was boring. I got the trout, which was quite overcooked and seemed to be lacking the lemony sauce that was supposed to come with it. The rice pilaf was crunchy, as though it had been scraped from the bottom of the pan, and the vegetables were so overcooked they were brownish and falling apart.
The service was not good, either. The wait staff was inattentive, and they served our salad and our entrees almost simultaneously.
The view was nice, but when everyplace in town has a beautiful view and you spend your days in the park, it's something you can spare for the sake of a better meal.
Skip this place - there are many better choices.

“HORRID!!!”
Reviewed August 7, 2009

What a mess. How can this restaurant serve food (if that's what they call it). I have visited Estes Park for nearly 40 years and this restaurant is absolutely the worst I've been to anywhere in the country. The trifecta of a bad experience. Overpriced, sickening food, and topped off with the worst service and most unfriendly "hostess" you have to wonder if this is intentional. I've eaten here before on other years. But apparently, the management has changed to mismanagement.

If you eat here, bring your lawyer, doctor and the county health inspector.

“had a excellent supper, highly recommend”
Reviewed July 26, 2009

The wife and I stopped there on our way back from Grand Lake to Estes Park for supper. We had a excellent meal and a excellent server. We both had their wild game sampler skewers with rice and potatoes. Each dinner had one skewer of buffalo, one of elk and one of lamb. the meal was delicous. Janet was a excellent witress as she entertained us with good conversation and was there even if we dint need anything allways checking on us, she even brought us a small sampling of elk stew wich by the way was as good as anything I have ever put in my mouth

“Went September 2008 and meal was fabulous”
Reviewed June 16, 2009

We had the Elk stew and it was really tasty. Service was good even though the restaurant was busy. Looking at other reviews it appears to be hit and miss, but we will certainly try it again this year (2009)
