Ed's is our go-to place for a good meal, not too expensive and they have good service. It's not "fancy" but more casual. The food is better than most in Estes (I haven't been very lucky in Estes for upscale dining). We always order the chicken lime tacos. We've also had the pozole which they are famous for. I liked it but am not much of a pork eater so probably won't get it again. Last time I was there (We've been there 10 or so times in the past year 1/2) I ordered nacho's with chicken and asked them to put shredded lettuce on top. There were great. We've ordered burriottos, fish taco's and salads. All are good. Worth a stop if youj're in Estes.

Nice clean place! The drinks were on special and we shared a Nachos appetizer. SO GOOD. We ordered the small size and it was PERFECT for both of us. Would definitely go back!

My favorite is the beef enchillada. The waitresses and hostesss were really friendly and patient with grandkids. I notices several young families and could tell it was a kid-friendly place to eat. Fair pricing.

Estes Park is a touristy town with hoardes of out-of-towner's looking for a taste of the Southwest. Ed's looks pretty good from the outside, right at the entrance to the main drag. It's a little rustic and has some outdoor seating along the creek. Just the kind of place that a visitor might like.

But Ed's Cantina is a poor excuse for a Mexican restaurant and an insult to a state where fresh, authentic Mexican food is revered. The food is just plain bad. The focus seems to be more on the bar and the beer, than the food.

We started with Nachos. It wasn't anything particularly unique. Next were the entrees. The Pozole, which traditionally should have been a hearty, colorful and rich stew with chunks of pork, hominy, corn and jalapeno's in a rich broth, was just a horrible, runny green mess with an odd texture. The carrot chili soup was just as disappointing. It was supremely bland, also with an unappealing, sort of creepy texture. We should have stopped there, but it was too late. Fish taco's were next. Just terrible! The 'beer battered cod' was mushy and mealy. The cilantro sauce had a metallic taste to it.

I went with two colleagues for this dinner after a long workday. We were seated in the noisy bar area, and the service was abominable. This is not a restaurant that I would recommend under any circumstances.

This is a must check it out place to eat. The Fajitas combination is wonderful and the beer is as cold as it was when we visited Estes...well almost. It was 12deg F when we walked in the place. Very lively bar area for a Thursday night. We waited only a few min to be seated. The staff were very nice and accommodating, food and drinks were moderately priced. A good value if your on a budget. We will return to Ed's the next time were in Estes.
