We ate upstairs, in the cafe, instead of in the dining room, because we are, well, cheap. It was perfectly fine. We had a BLT, the hot roast beef sandwich, kid's chicken tenders, an alpine burger and a couple of beers. Our server was brand new and made a few mistakes, but nothing serious. This was the place we figured we would go back to if we ran out of reasonable choices. Food prices appear to be pretty much the same throughout Estes Park (every entree is 9.95 and every beer is 3.50), so it was nice to find a less expensive burger and a kid's meal that was big enough for a 12 year old.

Every time we visit Estes Park, we make sure to go to the Sunday Champagne Brunch at the Other Side. The food is wondeful including made to order omelets. This is a tradition for us and we have never been disappointed with this wonderful brunch. There is a beautiful view of a lake and the mountains from this downstairs dining room. Our wait staff has always been wonderful. We have alse eaten upstairs in the casual restaurant too and had a great meal there too. We will always include the Other Side in any visit to Estes Park.

This restaurant has two dining options: the Diner for a simple homestyle meal or the more formal Restaurant. We chose the restaurant for a view of the outdoors and for a more intimate dinner.

Our table was nice, and looked out on a pond where ducks and geese were swimming and looking for handouts. Unfortunately, another couple was dining with their young children, whom they let run amok through the restaurant and in and out of the door to the deck and allowed them to chase the birds. This isn't entirely the restaurant's fault, but it would have been nice if they had asked the customers to control their children. We asked if there was another table available, but the place was full so we couldn't be moved.

Our meal was OK. I wasn't particularly impressed with my chicken entree, but my husband ordered a steak with sauteed mushrooms which he raved about. I was pleased he liked it, as these entrees are not inexpensive. The server was OK, but it took her awhile to refill empty glasses and she made a couple of mistakes with our order. She remedied them quickly, but our order wasn't complicated, so it should have been right the first time.

We had a nice time after the obnoxious children finally left, but I think this restaurant is a bit overpriced for what you get. I'd return, but I would choose the Cafe/Diner instead of the Restaurant for lower prices and a homestyle meal and go elsewhere for a romantic couple's dinner.
