“Love the Other Side”

Every time we visit Estes Park, we make sure to go to the Sunday Champagne Brunch at the Other Side. The food is wondeful including made to order omelets. This is a tradition for us and we have never been disappointed with this wonderful brunch. There is a beautiful view of a lake and the mountains from this downstairs dining room. Our wait staff has always been wonderful. We have alse eaten upstairs in the casual restaurant too and had a great meal there too. We will always include the Other Side in any visit to Estes Park.

“Nice atmosphere”
Reviewed December 16, 2006

This restaurant has two dining options: the Diner for a simple homestyle meal or the more formal Restaurant. We chose the restaurant for a view of the outdoors and for a more intimate dinner.

Our table was nice, and looked out on a pond where ducks and geese were swimming and looking for handouts. Unfortunately, another couple was dining with their young children, whom they let run amok through the restaurant and in and out of the door to the deck and allowed them to chase the birds. This isn't entirely the restaurant's fault, but it would have been nice if they had asked the customers to control their children. We asked if there was another table available, but the place was full so we couldn't be moved.

Our meal was OK. I wasn't particularly impressed with my chicken entree, but my husband ordered a steak with sauteed mushrooms which he raved about. I was pleased he liked it, as these entrees are not inexpensive. The server was OK, but it took her awhile to refill empty glasses and she made a couple of mistakes with our order. She remedied them quickly, but our order wasn't complicated, so it should have been right the first time.

We had a nice time after the obnoxious children finally left, but I think this restaurant is a bit overpriced for what you get. I'd return, but I would choose the Cafe/Diner instead of the Restaurant for lower prices and a homestyle meal and go elsewhere for a romantic couple's dinner.

“Watch ducks on a pond while you eat!”
Reviewed November 22, 2006

The Other Side Restaurant has been around a long time and I have eaten there occasionally for more than 20 years. This restaurant has a dining room and a coffee shop. The dining room overlooks a small pond that is loaded with ducks most of the year. We enjoy watching them when we are there. The food is good and fairly consistant--not stellar. They have buffalo burgers which we enjoy. The menu is American and offers a great selection of choices. The Other Side is often open for holidays like Thanksgiving.

“Pretty restaurant, food and service could be improved.”
Reviewed June 24, 2006

I was looking forward to trying a new restaurant in Estes Park since we live nearby. The quality of food did not meet my expectations, nor did the service. The salad was dull with runny salad dressing. My steak lacked flavor. The waitstaff was understaffed. I did enjoy watching the ducks eating outside on the railing, and we might try eating here again when the busy tourist season is over.

“Nice simple meal”
Reviewed September 27, 2005

The Other Side has two restaurants. A high-end room and a coffee shop. We chose the coffee shop. The food was good and service fast and friendly. We will try them again if were in that part of town.
