“Amazing Coffee and Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2007

Best food we had while here. It's an absolute DISGRACE that this place is next to the Stanley Hotel, in a development.. but that being said, the coffee, lattes, muffins, and fries were amazing. Amazing club sandwiches.

We visited this bakery/restaurant last fall on our usual fall trek to RMNP. After camping, my husband needed his internet fix and this was the original reason for our choice of this place. It turned out to have a nice, relaxed atmosphere and very good food. There were large servings. I had a very good, hearty homemade mushroom soup and the rest of the fam had some very good sandwiches made on their bakery/artisanal(sp? or have I made up a new word?) bread. The fries were "homemade" and plentiful. Service was sparce, but it was afternoon and the place was preparing to close--despite the end of the business day, they did not force us to leave. I look forward to visiting this place this fall!!

“A great little funky place to eat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2006

I've been eating at the Notchtop for years. It's a great place to eat and the owner prides himself on healthy food, low fat, low cholesterol, etc. The decor is a bit funky to say the least. They have free WIFI and they're open all year. Right next to the TrueValue Hardware in the "Stanley Village."

“On the verge of being a must-stop and eat”

The Notch Top isn't the best bakery in the world, have the best ambiance in the world, or even serve the best breakfasts, but it's a restaurant where the owner cares about his customer's experience. We recently stayed in Estes Park for several days and ate at the Notch Top twice. Both times the service was a bit slow (the owner was the only wait staff), but the food was hot, tasty, and served in tremendous portions at easy-on-the-wallet prices. In particular, the loose leaf tee served in a french press and the cranberry/apple crepes were stellar. The eggs were only average. Most of all the Notch Top gives you a bit of home in a town that lives off of tourists and treats people as such.

Visit the Notch Top if you want a lesiurely meal with decent food (bordering on stellar) at very reasonable prices. Your patience will be rewarded. Avoid it if you need speedy service or "fast food."

“Got to be kidding”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2005

Based on what we read we were ready for a mouth watering breakfast.
What a mistake. We ate there on 10/5. My husband had hashbrowns, scrambled eggs and bacon. You couldn't tell the hash browns from the plate WHITE and greasy. The bacon tasted old and you could tell that it had been cooked in early morning or the day b-4. He also ordered a cinn. roll. It was served right out of the case. He had to ask for it to be warmed. The scrambled eggs were in one solid disk. We overheard another customer ask if the eggs she ordered were scrambled. The reply yes and then the server just walked away. I ordered pancakes. They were so dry that no amount of syrup would have been enough. Don't even go there. Yuck
