Elkhorn Avenue in Estes Park, CO, just West of Downtown and 4 miles from the main entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park located next to the historic Elkhorn Lodge on the Big Thompson River. Picnic In The Park features authentic Neapolitan style wood fired pizza using Italian imported "00" Caputo flour, Italian imported San Marzano tomatoes which are grown at the base of Mt. Vesuvius in the rich volcanic soil near Naples and we use only the best high quality, freshly prepared, natural and low to no preservative ingredients available. Our NY Style Deli Sandwich is famous and touted as the best in town and true to and rivaling those on the east coast. The quality of our food and the wood firing shines through in the great taste experience you will have with any menu choice at Picnic In The Park. In the summer season, Picnic In The Park turns on its Rotisserie Oven and roasts chicken, corn on the cob (seasonally available) and serves traditional style picnic sides like potato salad and baked beans. We will create you a wonderful picnic basket meal in a traditional picnic basket or backpack that you can take along and treat your family to in the park or at our outdoor seating. Or try a great sandwich and snacks stuffed in your backback for a majestic RMNP hike. When you are finished with your day in the beauty of RMNP, treat yourself and your hungry family to a wonderful mouth-watering pizza hand made and fired to perfection in just minutes. Picnic In The Park prides itself on Friendliness, Cleanliness, and Quality and we work hard to be consistent in all of these areas so that every customer experience is as good and as important as the last. We not only greet you when you come in but we greet you when you leave, we are always happy to meet new people and visit with both new and old friends. We are newly remodeled, with modern yet rustic decor, and we provide an atmosphere that is not only inviting but interesting to experience. We came upon this place by accident, trying to avoid the Main Street traffic. I'm so glad we did! The pizza is the best pizza I've had in a long long time. Buffalo chicken is what we had. The crust was so perfect, thin, but crisp, best flavor. It was cooked in a wood fire oven. We also had a salad that was enormous, topped with everything, and to top it, homemade salad dressing. Then, homemade chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I just wish they were closer to us in Denver! I rate this place A++ for great food, and great service! Oh, and you can eat outside by the river!

We have had three pizza's here and love them. One delivered (very fast) and two take out. The higher price is well worth getting a pizza cooked in a wood oven using fresh ingredients. If you want cheap pizza you can go elsewhere but it won't be as good. We will continue to keep coming back.

We ordered the Maui Wowie and the Spirit (can't remember the exact name) pizzas. They were both excellent. The crust was thin and crispy, the pineapple was super fresh and not the kind you find in the can, the canadian bacon was sliced and not the round disks you usually find, the "spirit" had just enough garlic. We also ordered a smores dessert pizza. Rick, the very friendly owner, cooked up a reeses dessert pizza by accident and gave that one to us as well. We felt it was reasonably priced for being located in a tourist town where every store has inflated prices (we paid $12 for a pint of ice cream at the local homemade ice cream store in town!!!!) We visit Estes Park every year and had never had good pizza until now. Everything else on the menu sounds delicious as well and we can't wait to come back next year and try some of the other menu items, as well as ordering some more pizza. One more thing to note, seating is very limited hence the name "Picnic in the Park" so don't plan on eating there. Call and order ahead of time, take it with you, and enjoy the scenery all around you.

We stopped here because we wanted pizza and we wanted it quick. We were not disappointed. It was delicious although small for the price. We came back that evening for the sandwiches because we didn't want to wait at a restaurant. The sandwiches weren't as good as the pizza but I would go back there for the pizza!

Stopped by this little place while on vacation with family and enjoyed several homemade pizzas with exceptional taste. The owner was friendly, very gracious and welcoming to our large group and made our dinner most pleasant. Would return again if in the area.
