“Good, but pricey”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

The food was good, but pricey. The soup for two was very good and appropriately sized and the price of this was OK.

“Just okay ”
Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

Our kids wanted Chinese food, so we stopped here. The waitress was super friendly, the place was quiet, but the food was just okay. It was extremely over priced. Like another reviewer said, the orange chicken and sesame chicken were identical. We all felt I'll a couple of hours later, and will definitely not plan on eating Chinese food the next time are in Estes.

“Great Food!”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

Located across the street from the big slide, we was not sure about the place when we first went there by location of being away from downtown, but once inside and seeing so many locals eating here, we wasn't disappointed. Food was cooked to order and very fresh. Large servings, in fact we was able to take back to cabin and have another meal. Strongly recommend if you are in the mood for Chinese!!

“One of the truly good places in Estes”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

In a sea of mediocrity, China Garden stands out. No, the ambience isn't the greatest, but every dish is consistently very good. I have been here many times and never had anything that wasn't delicious.

“Food not that great but was open so that's a plus”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

My family and I spent a long weekend in Estes Park in January to visit Rocky Mt. National Park when it was off season. The weather was freezing and it was Sunday night with not too many places open. We wanted to go somewhere off the main drag and found some positive reviews for China Garden. First, we ordered appetizers and the waitress brought out small plates. I kid you not, they were freezing cold, much like the temperature outside. We ordered several different dishes (sesame chicken, triple kung pao, garlic chicken, moo shu wraps). The food came out hot but amazingly they were also on cold plates so the hot food became warm/cold pretty quickly. Pretty much we taste each other's dishes and I felt like they had one sauce for every dish with just different veggies and meat. The sesame chicken tasted like orange chicken with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Garlic chicken had same sauce with some garlic added.

Overall, I was very disappointed with the food and would have given them one star except for they were one of a few restaurants that remained open off season and on a Sunday night so we didn't starve but, really, cook like you mean it or just close like the other places if you're not feeling it.
