Enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the ever changing clouds roll in over the mountains. Was nice to leave the sliding door open a little at night for that fresh cool mountain air. Very friendly and helpful at the office. Nice pool. A little noisy on the rooms facing the highway but it didn't bother us. Clean and comfortable. Bathroom is small but with the sink outside that helps. Mini fridge and microwave really helpful. Classic motel experience.

This is an older motel reminiscent of the 50's. It is very clean and family run. They are very nice and helpful. My room had a coffeemaker, small refrigerator and microwave. There was no closet and little room for luggage. The rooms are small and barely fit in the two double beds. Likewise the bathroom (shower only) was quite small. I don't see how more than 2 people could comfortably stay in that room. On the other hand, it is just minutes from the Park and if you are just looking for a "cozy" place to sleep that is very reasonably priced, go for it! I was traveling alone, so it wasn't a problem for me.

Motel is unimpressive from the exterior, but the rooms are very well maintained, clean, comfortable with frig, coffee, microwave and lots of toiletries. The staff are hiking experts and can provide plenty of advice and guidance for those new to the area. Very close to the park entrance and the shuttle stops out front. Nice heated pool which is clean, and several smaller outdoor seating areas available for guests to enjoy the views. Restaurant next door is fairly good and motel guests receive a discount. Have stayed here twice and will stay again on my next visit to Estes Park. Even saw a bear right out front!

Room Tip: I don't feel the "mountain view" rooms along the street with the small deck are worth...

The Alpine Trail Ridge Inn is a great location for vacationers to the Rocky Mountains National Park. Minutes away to the Beaver Meadows visitors center to pick up the shuttle bus the hiking trails or to drive up to the Alpine Trail visitor center. Rooms are clean and comfortable for up to 3 adults, 4 adults would be tight. Beds are firm but I didn't care for the down filled pillows. Plenty of outlets to recharge your devices was nice to see for an older building. Great views from your room. Walking distance to a small grocery store. Didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked nice. Only issue we had came from the room above us, we heard every footstep. Luckily we were out sightseeing most of the time.

Room Tip: Pay the extra to get the second story room with the balcony.

We were greeted warmly by all the staff. They were gracious and handsome great advice. The place looked like an old motel from the outside so we were pleasantly surprise how big the room was and how amazingly cleaned the tiled bathroom was. There was a big easy chair which my husband loved. The bed and linens were above average. The view was nice. Our room was was in the back of the complex so the noise from the road did no hinder our sleep. The location is excellent and near one of the best BBQ places in the USA. The place did not require a multi night stay we why I booked the place and the reviews on Trip Advisor. It is not a chain motel and not the most updated but we recommend highly and would stay again.

We came early to check in at around 11 am and were told that our room would not be ready till 3.00pm. If checkout time was 10.30am
I feel we could have been accommodated earlier. We were part of Dan Ballard's group and our class sessions started at 1.00pm. Our room was the last one to be cleaned even though you guys were aware we were already there. We did not get our keys till past 3.00pm after everyone who had come later than us had checked in and gone off to the class.

Because of the late checkin our workshop had already started in town. My roommate locked her keys in the trunk because she had to remove hiking boots from the luggage in the trunk of the car. In NJ were we live you could easily call the police and they would open the car for you as an accommodation. Cranbury NJ is a town similar to Estes Park and I expect you know the local police very well. However the receptionist called the locksmith who took forever to come thus making us late for our class in the town. The locksmith was supposed to come in a half hour but took over an hour. We even asked the receptionist to call the police but she refused.

Dan said this motel was very friendly but I have to strongly disagree. I felt no warmth or friendliness here. We stayed at the Hyatt Place in Colorado Springs for the same price and the room was much nicer, bigger, modern and the breakfast was included. They even went so far as to give us a box breakfast when we went for a 3.00am sunrise shoot. Now thats warmth and friendliness from a fortune 500 Company. I expected a lot more from a privately owned motel. I will never come to this motel again.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else. The only thing this place has going for it is the location near the park.

First, I would like to apologize to this guest for what happened. Our goal is for every guest to have a wonderful experience here. As the Manager, I will take the responsibility for what happened, and strive to explain some points of which the guest was not aware.

Before this group had booked, we had promised a noon checkout to a regular guest on this particular room, so it was noon before the previous occupant departed the room. This is our busiest season, so all of the rooms like the one reserved for this guest were taken and we were not able to switch them to a different room. This guest had been confirmed a 3:30 pm check-in when the reservation was made and the room was ready slightly before that time. There were several promised early check-ins for guests who had requested them when they reserved their rooms and we were working diligently to fulfill those commitments.

The locking of the car was not in our control and although Estes Park is a small town, there are literally thousands of people for the local police to deal with, so the response time is not always fast if there is no imminent emergency. The Front Desk person did not refuse to call the police, she just said that the police would not respond any quicker than the locksmith.

I would like to contrast this event with how we normally handle difficult situations. The next day we had a woman walk in with what she thought was a confirmed reservation through a travel agency. We did not have any record of the reservation and after contacting the travel agent, they discovered they had not completed the reservation process with us. Although the town was very full, we did find a motel with an opening who would work with her on the price on a vacation home rental. However, when checking in at that motel, the guest is given a key and a map on how to find the vacation home. I felt that after the day she had experienced, someone should accompany her to the motel and then to the rental, so I asked one of my Front Desk clerks to do just that, and the lady was very amazed and appreciative
