Rams Horn Village Resort
Reviewed September 11, 2013

We recently stayed at Ram's Horn for my son's wedding! We were a bit worried as this was one of the busiest weekends in Estes Park (Scottish-Irish Festival) We we amazed at at wonderful Ram's Horn Resort was. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were being welcomed home!! The people on the desk were most helpful in every aspect!!! The unit itself was furnished nicely and looked brand new! Coffee from Starbucks was a nice touch as well! We had family at other resorts around town and as far as we are concerned this is THE PLACE TO STAY!

This resort is the perfect place for a family to enjoy. Very clean, great location and great amenities. Very relaxing. The staff was so friendly and recommended some great places to eat. Plenty of things to do at the resort when you're not away enjoying the rest of the area. The grounds were extremely clean and well kept. This was our first time at the resort and would definitely come back. We will recommend to all of our friends back home.

Room Tip: Some of the units are joined together. If you're worried about making to much noise and botheri...

We have been going to Rams Horn at least once a year since 1997. It is our favorite spot. Staff friendly. Always wanting to help. Love the Saturday night wine & cheese and Sunday morning waffle breakfast. Accommodations first class. Right at the entry to Rocky Mountain National Park. And, of course, Estes Park is wonderful.

We shared a cabin with our friends from Oregon, had gorgeous views of the Mts. from the porch bench and the upstairs bedroom balcony each day. Immaculately clean, and well stocked kitchen. Staff were quick and pleasant in dealing with requests, we enjoyed the free happy hour,Sun. morning breakfast, and weekday ice cream social, along with a couple of the weekday speakers at the clubhouse. Grounds beautifully kept, and we liked the quiet of the two outer area whirlpools. Very convenient to the RMNP, which we entered at least 4 different days----would highly recommend the Park Ridge Drive in the morning. So much to see close by, including great restaurants, and we were happy to have great weather each day! Stormed one night only. Alex and Deb made us feel "at home" from the first welcome, and keep this resort , along with their great staff, on the top of our list for return visits!

Room Tip: Be sure to ask if you have a family and want to be near the pool or playground, or if you want a cle...

The Rams Horn is a wonderful place to stay. The unit was spacious and well-equipped, and the village itself was well maintained, uncrowded, and quite peaceful. Admittedly, we were there August 20-24, so summer months may be a different experience. Our first wild-life sighting was two male mule deer with five-point racks only 10 feet from our unit--quite a thrill! Harry, in the office, gave us great advice about sights and trails to try, which we enjoyed. The location was ideal--away from the congestion of town but within minutes of anything we wanted, including RMNP. The only negative we found was some traffic noise behind us and the occasional coyote howling through the night, but I would definitely stay there again in spite of these concerns.

We have stayed at Rams Horn Village two different times now and were not disappointed either time! The village itself is very quiet and relaxing with all the amenities needed. The buildings are like small apartments with two bedrooms, two full baths, kitchen, dining room and living room...just the right size for our family of four. The location is ideal as it is located just outside of town and minutes away from RMNP. It is a great place to stay and an easy place to settle into, making it feel like a home away from home. We will definitely be back!

We booked this property based on reviews and overall, were not disappointed. We could be in RMNP within five minutes, which was a definite plus. It was also nice to be on the outskirts of Estes Park.
There is only one touch-up cleaning (minimal cleaning done) for a week stay. In addition, the views from the cabins vary dramatically. Some overlook the playgrounds/other cabins. We did have a view of the mountains, however you had to look past a campground/RV park. On the weekend, it was rather loud and made it impossible to sleep with the windows open, which then made the room hot. In addition, there was a hot tub right outside the other bedroom which also was noisy until at least 10 pm (we had a 4 yr old in that room so 10 pm was late). The loft set-up also means noise travels a lot. We tried to have our youngest son in the Pack & Play upstairs but with any noise magnified, it was difficult. The other odd thing is that the doorways are not standard size so we could not fit his Pack & Play through the doorway while set-up. Usually we would have him fall asleep in our room and then move him but this was not an option. Maybe not an issue for lots of travelers, but it was a huge deal for us.
The pool was pretty nice, although it was quite deep for any young children to use.
It also would be nice if they had a recycling bin in the cabin rather than having to walk recyclables to the garbage area every day. In a place as beautiful as the Rockies, it felt kind of like recycling was an inconvenience.
The kitchen was well stocked except that it needs a bottle opener. It would also be nice to have more gas grills rather than the uncovered charcoal ones. They take forever to heat up and cook the food (it took us over two hours to make dinner one evening). The gas grills are spaced far apart and were quite dirty, so unappealing for us.
The laundry facilities are nice (bring money or your own detergent) and the ice cream social was decent.
I think for the price, there could be some improvements, but we were paying for the location mainly and for that, it was worth it.
