Spruce Lake RV Park

We loved the view of Spruce Lake from our cabin while staying at Spruce Lake RV Park the month of July!

The WiFi didn't always work, and we hope by the time we return the futon will be replaced with a hide-a-bed because the futon was an extremely uncomfortable piece of furniture.

The outdoor workers were always friendly; however, the same can not be said about office personnel!

Wi-Fi service was and is terrible, to the point of not connecting unless you go to the office. Their management said they were providing Wi-Fi service as long as you go to the office.

Terrible lack of 50 AMP service. Many of the 50 AMP sites were occupied by summer residents using only 30 AMP service., leaving those of us with big rigs with only 30 AMP service.

Management and assistant management were unfriendly and displayed a "know it all" attitude, even curt at times.

This place has great potential, but not with current management.

We put our 24' trailer at the "Stump" and we loved it. Wake up to elk and the sound of the river outside your door. The stocked pond was an added bonus, while washing clothes go catch dinner. Wanted to stay the following yr, but because of "Rita" we had to cancel and we are still waiting for our refund. Overall we would stay here again. The host were very helpful and friendly.

This RV park has been around for many years. The nice feature is a small stocked fishing pond and the Big Thompson River runs adjacent to the RV park. It is said that you will see elk, and we did see several racoon. We surprised a racoon one night, he jumped down from our camper top and scaled down the ladder.

Bath and shower room is huge, clean and with security codes. That is an important feature. Activities are plenty. At night the lights in the RV park look beautiful, reflecting onto the pond. You are in walking distance to more convenient shopping.

A large family group stayed in the 3-bedroom 2 bath cabin and an RV site. They do not permit tenting. The cabin was actually a large mobile home, so it was spacious with large washer and dryer, large refrigerator, TV, deck. From the large kitchen, the heated pool is steps away.

There were several maintenance issues, but they were tended to quickly. The lighting was poor. My advice to the staff is: stay there one night and see if you can at least read a magazine or cook a meal. They do provide smaller cabins that minus a stove only.

Overall, this is a clean, cozy place for a few nights.....MzRizz

From the time you arrive, the camp hosts bend over backward to guide you to your site and get you situated. Our kids caught trout right in the pond on site. We took numerous pictures of elk that were right in the campsite. The access to town was easy. The stream running through the camp area and the presence of elk on a daily basis, along with the great views from certain points in the camp made it worth returning to again and again. The kids had places to fish and games to play. But, again, what makes this camping area special is the friendly people who run it. Thanks again, my family will be back.

We stayed at the RV park the week after Labor Day, 2003. It is a great place to stay. Friendly personnel, very helpful, and the place was immaculate. It is just a short walk to a grocery store and a gift/clothing store that has everything. It is seven minutes from downtown, but it seems like it is out of town.

Our family stayed at Spruce lake R.V. Park in the summers of 2000 and 2001. It is a very clean campground surrounded by fantastic mountain views. The Big Thompson river runs along side of the campground and herds of elk frequently come strolling through.I would highly recommend this campground, it had the cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen and was close to everything. You even get an incredible view while you wash your clothes! Don't pass this one up.
