Glacier Lodge is hands down the BEST place to stay in Estes park. David and his entire family make your family feel welcome! The lodge itself is very kid friendly with activities and games offered daily. The cabins are clean and comfortable. A riverside cabin offers a beautiful view of the Big Thompson river. Falling asleep to the sound of the river is my idea of Heaven. My family has been staying at Glacier Lodge for 30 years now and I hope to go for 30 more!

We have been coming here for the last 15 years. We have four children that got to experience the wonderful surrounds, people, cabin, pool, and stables. We are now empty nesters and we still come every year! We have enjoyed the Ranglo's family for many years. I like to say it is our time share without all the commitment of one. If you are looking for a great affordable place to stay, then you have picked the right resort for young and old alike. We have tried other resorts around Estes, but we still come back to this one. It's the best kept secret!

Room Tip: All the cabins are wonderful, but we like the Wanamingo, Wind River, the best. But we like to be on...

We had a great time at Glacier Lodge, a true family run organization. They made you felt very welcomed, grounds were very well maintained. A nice trout stream on the backside of our cabin. You can't beat waking up to that in the morning. The stables just up the hill for a nice morning ride. If we come back to Estes Park, this will be the place that our family will be staying. Thanks Glacier lodge for the memories, our family very much enjoyed the time spent there.

This was our 13th year staying at Glacier Lodge. It is an incredible value and and wonderful place for our entire family. Dave and Karen Ranglos give so much to their resort and the entire staff is wonderful. The cabins are well maintained, the pool is a relaxing place in the afternoon and the various programs offered during the week are very good. The Thursday morning mountain breakfast is something you can't miss. One you stay at Glacier Lodge, you won't want to stay anywhere else when visiting RMNP.

Room Tip: Any of the A frame cabins are great facilities for a familty of four.

Would love to give Glacier Lodge a higher rating but when we made our reservation a year in advance we reserved it for 3 nights for the Timber Lodge. We showed them the exact 3 nights we wanted and were told they would hold them for us. A couple of days later, after we were back home, a 6 hour drive away, we were contacted by Dave (the owner) and told that they had a 4 night minimum. I told him we had already made the 3 night reservation but it made no difference. By this time, we could not change places as we had already notified the 6 families that were going to stay there. Some of them were able to make arrangements to stay the additional night, but others could not change because of job requirements, etc. I will say the Timber Lodge was the absolute perfect place for our reunion and everyone loved it.

Room Tip: The Timber Lodge Building at Glacier Lodge was the perfect place for our family reunion. Everyone o...

This was our first trip to the RMNP area and I researched just about every property in the area. The descriptions of Glacier Lodge showed that it had something for everyone in our family so we went ahead and booked it. It turned out to be the perfect choice. I wanted to spend my days hiking in the park and Glacier Lodge is close to the park entrance so that was perfect for me. There are TONS of activities for the kids including swimming, games (outdoor and indoor), a basketball court, fire pits and outdoor fireplaces to make s'mores and much more. We had a grill on our porch so I cooked out daily and the cabin was fantastic. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable. My wife enjoyed relaxing on the porch with a book. The Mountain Breakfast was fun and delicious as the owner introduced himself, his family, and his staff. We normally explore the areas we visit in detail, but we found Glacier Lodge so relaxing, that the only time we left was to hike in the park. We wanted to take advantage of the on-site horseback riding which we have heard great things about, but those comfortable chairs on the porch with the great views just wouldn't let us get up. The kids have been asking me constantly when we'll be going back. Hopefully soon! Thanks to the Ranglos Family for a great time!

Our family spent an amazing week at Glacier Lodge. The location is absolute perfection; outside the crowds of Estes, but with quick and easy access to the Beaver Meadows entrance of the park. The grounds and cabins are incredibly well maintained with cheerful touches (flower planters, hummingbird feeders, wooden Adirondack chairs) that make it feel like coming home. We chose Driftwood cabin which is just steps from the Big Thompson river. We spent many peaceful hours on the deck enjoying the river and its visitors (jays, hummingbirds, squirrels, deer, butterflies) while our son found the 'just right' stones to toss into the water. The cabin was immaculately clean and comfortably furnished. Daily towel service was prompt, and the bathroom well stocked with Aveda products. Ample firewood was provided, and upon our arrival, a stack was in the fireplace ready to go. Our only small complaints popped up in the kitchen; the baking sheet provided didn't fit in the oven, and the oven dial has no markings, so using it is an adventure in estimation! On-ground stables, a heated pool, various sports equipment and a Pole Position arcade game at the laundry (our son loved this!) leave little room for anyone to complain of boredom. It's easy to see the pride the Ranglos family takes in maintaining this lovely property, and in caring for their guests with genuine warmth. Highly recommended!
