We just returned from a 5 night stay at Boulder Brook. Despite the glowing reviews of this facility, our family was so disappointed in the accomodations. The decor is very outdated and in need of serious updating and/or repair. My guess is that this place has not been updated since it was built; window treatments and kitchen appliances look to be about 15 years old. At 'High Season' rates, I expected soooo much more and instead was greeted with fraying sofa cushions and bent, metal blinds . We stayed in the Antler room and our 2 kids [age 7 and 5] slept on the futon in the great room. By day 3, the maid service stopped changing the futon from a bed to a sofa . . . so we used the futon only as a bed for the remainder of the week. This made hanging out in the great room difficult with only 1 other chair besides the futon.

In marketing terms, this place is a 'cash cow' and it seems the owners make minimal investment to improve their property. I would not recommend this place to my friends or for families. We visit Estes Park frequently and we do not plan to stay at Boulder Brook again.

We were surprised to receive this review since the guests never indicated any problem while they were here.
The suite they were in is a little out of the way, so we request that guests staying there phone the office when they want service.
As far as the decor, that suite was just redecorated a little over 3 years ago and is a favorite with our guests. Potential guests can take the virtual tour on our website and decide for themselves.
We are still laughing over the 'Cash cow' remark....if she only knew.
We are also wondering if this review has anything to do with the fact that we asked, as nicely as possible, if they could be a little more considerate about the noise level, because we had complaints from the people staying beneath them. The situation did not improve and the guests beneath cut their visit short by two days.
A difficult situation for us.

We stayed at the Boulder Brook during the first week of May 2006. Thanks for the recommendations from TripAdvisor ... it deserves the kudos. We stayed in one of the spa suites which had a 2-head walk-in shower, a two person jacuzzi tub, fireplace, king size bed and deck looking out onto the creek. Sitting outside on the bench in the evening listening to the water was truly heavenly. We would recommend these accommodations to anyone staying in Estes Park.

My husband and I just stayed at the Boulder Brooke for our Anniversary. I would like to thank the staff for a wonderful stay, and for the fabulous basket they made for my husband. The Boulder Brooke staff and their lodge truely are hidden gems.

My husband & I have stayed at Boulder Brook four times since Feb. 2003. We stayed in a spa suite during our first visit; we now have a child and stay in the regular suites. The spa suite had a large spa tub, king bed, fireplace, & kitchenette all in one living area; it was great for cozying up on a cold winter weekend - very romantic. The regular suites have a bathroom with a jetted tub & a bedroom. There is an outdoor area with a hot tub (not private) & several gas grills. The suites have a beautiful view of the river, the kitchenettes are well-stocked, & we have always had excellent service. The staff is polite, attentive to details & happy to help. Our most recent trip was over Easter weekend this year; the Easter bunny brought our two-year-old daughter a t-ball set, & we managed to leave one of the balls in our room. The staff at Boulder Brook took the trouble to mail the ball back to us - that's great service!

My family stayed at Boulder Brook this past weekend and had a horrible experience. The owner and staff were rude, offensive and just plain nasty. As a native to Estes Park I would suggest one of the other beautiful hotels on Fall River Road. Boulder Brook has nothing to offer.

Absolute nonsense!
This former guest is just disgruntled because the staff noticed that she and her husband had a 2 year old toddler in an 'Adults Only' Spa Suite.
Her husband came to the office and apologized.......

My wife and I recently went to Estes Park, CO and stayed at the Boulder Brook. It was a choice between a known place in Winter Park vs. a relatively unknown area for us. We were not disappointed by our choice and by the choice of many who read reviews about Boulder Brook through the Trip Advisor. Boulder Brook is conveniently located near a main entrance to the Rocky Mountain State Park. It is a beautiful and quiet place to stay. Our room overlooking a brook was spacious, clean and all equipment and appliances were well maintained. The receptionists and the housekeeping staff were very attentive to our needs. The grounds were well maintained specially after we had snow. While this area may not be the first choice for snow lovers, we feel that for us who equally love the outdoors in the winter for activities like snowshoeing, the Boulder Brook is a hidden winter gem.

I read all of the reviews on this website and read every page on Boulder Brook's website, and I was still amazed when we got there! My husband and I stayed in the Antlers suite for 7 wonderful nights in August. The room was enormous and airy, and had a beautiful view of the Fall River, maybe the best view in the whole resort, especially from the balcony. The sound of the water rushing by right outside our windows was great. I have never slept so well in my life! It was so peaceful!

The staff was amazing, and even gave us a tour of a jacuzzi suite (very nice!). They provided movies (as many as you wanted!) and plush terry cloth robes for the outdoor hot tub. The housekeeping staff was great, our room was spotless for the entire stay.

Overall, this was absolutely, positively, the BEST place we have ever stayed away from home. I would not hesitate to come back. The entire experience was much better than we thought it could be!
