We took the 1.5 hour mountain trail ride, and it was really fun! There was a group of 5 of us, 2 of whom had never been riding before. Our guide, Hannah, did a great job leading us on our ride, and throwing in facts about the area along the way. Our horses were great, the weather was perfect, and it made for a great day! Many of the other reviews claim these rides are boring, but if you go into it knowing that it's a trail ride up and down the mountain with spectacular views along the way, it makes it way more enjoyable. This is not the place to go if you're looking for a gallop through a meadow, but is the place to go if you are looking for a great, reasonably priced trip!

My wife and I and our three children (11,11 and 8) went on the one-hour ride. This was the childrens' first time on a horse other than a carnival pony ride. The one-hour trip was just right. The ranch hands were very friendly and courteous, and paired us with horses that matched our ability. I was nervous about an 8 year old on a full-grown horse, but the horse was quite friendly and took good care of my daughter, and the guide ("Kelly") placed my daughter right behind her in line. The terrain can be a little steep for beginners, but the guide was good at giving directions to the kids. The guides were very safety conscious. We had to wait over an hour to start our ride due to lightning strikes in the area. My wife said the staff was very friendly when making reservations via the phone. The turn-off can be a little hard to find. The sign is very small and easy to miss. My children said the horse ride was the highlight of their trip.

Took the kids riding at Cowpoke Corner. The staff were friendly and helpful. They asked about riding ability and matched horses to us accordingly. The kids (8 and 10) had never been atop big horses before, and the sometimes mildly steep ride had them ( and me) nervous in a couple places, but the wrangler was helpful and supportive, and the horses calm and sure-footed. Anyone who has been on a horse before (and most who haven't) would have no problem. On our 1.5 hour ride, we went up the mountain through the forest and passed through some areas with great scenery. It was a lot of fun for us all and I certainly recommend Cowpoke Corner.

The staff was professional and friendly and the horses seemed very well groomed and taken care of. We were the last ride of the day and "Zorro" was difficult for my daughter to control and "Hank " kept tripping. We took the 2 hour ride up into the mountain and the way down "Devils Staircase " was not an adventure, it was a painful and unpleasant experience with a tripping horse. Go to National Gateway instead.

We took a 1.5 hour ride. They had very well trained horses. The guide was friendly and she knew enough to answer us. We had a fun ride through the beautiful scenery.
