Rockmount Cottages & Cabins
Reviewed May 13, 2011

My hubby and I stayed for a weekd in The Windsong Cabin at Rockmount Cottages in Estes Park, Co. Beautiful grounds very clean and the upkeep on them was remarkable. The cabin was spotless, i don't think i have ever stayed in such a clean place. Even though there were other cabins there i felt like we were alone in this are. The manager and family don't bother you but were there for a freindly wave or smile. Great laundry room and game room. Picture window in cabin that allowed you to view the mountains, elk and even a coyate on the grounds. We will definatley visit this spot again

We stayed at Rockmount on the recommendation of a friend and are very glad that we did. Rockmount is a beautiful setting near the Beaver Meadow entrance of RMNP, easily accesible. The cabins are super clean and the price is reasonable. Everyone there was friendly. Very quiet and relaxing with the river out your door. Would definitely stay there again.

This place was great and I am surprised there aren't more reviews on it. We choose a cottage that was a cheaper price than a log house and it suited our needs fine. It was two bedroom, near the river and we could hear it having the windows open. You would want to consider this when choosing a cottage, depending on the age of kids. There was a full smaller kitchen, living room with cable tv, bathroom and the two bedrooms complete with a large patio with lawn chairs and table. The game room had games, laundry (which we used), balls, etc. The owners were very personable at check in and would wave as they walked or rode their golf cart around the property. There is no pool, and there are two play structures. This resort it located closer to the end of other resorts in town, making it a little more quiet, I would imagine. I would definitely stay here again without any hesitation. I also looked at several other cabin properties and could hardly find any with stand alone cabins, that would accept a two night reservation - almost all requested 3 nights, which we could not do.

Rockmount Cottages is a nice lodging choice for those looking for a property that's mid-priced, clean, comfortable, and well located (it's located near the Beaver Meadows entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, but also not far from the heart of downtown Estes Park). Ken and Carol who manage the property are like a favorite aunt and uncle, making sure you feel very welcome and have everything you need. Rockmount seems to be principally designed for families, although a couple not requiring uber seclusion would also enjoy it. The place is reasonably quiet, yet offers something for the kids to do while you read a book on the front porch. There's a centrally located playground that several families took advantage of while we were there. The property is also adjacent to the pretty, rollicking Big Thompson River where a nice, big lawn area invites guests to enjoy time along the river. You can sit and watch the water roll by or fish for trout or stroll the river's edge. This is a the type of feature that you might expect to find at a property offering more expensive cabins. Our cabin was spacious, well furnished, and clean, clean, clean. We're in the cabin rental business in a national park and know when it's right and when it's not. We would recommend Rockmount Cottages to anyone looking for an all around nice cabin experience that's fair to the pocketbook, offers quality amenities, and has a peach of a location.
