We have stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin twice and both times have had one of the most relaxing, family-fun vacations ever. If you can swing a cabin, I highly recommend it. They are comfortable, clean and you can really relax and put your feet up instead of jumping over others luggage in a hotel room. (Having not stayed in their lodges, I probably can't review that though, can I? :) One trip was in July and the weather was perfect. The kids played outside and we took advantage of the swimming pool, arts & crafts, volleyball, mini golf, archery, a scavenger hunt. We just returned from an October trip during which it snowed unexpectedly. But the cabin was comfortable and there were plenty of activities to keep us happily occupied, including roller skating, volleyball, basketball in the longhouse, arts & crafts, and at the cabin we played cards and did a few jigsaw puzzles. All the activities at the YMCA are based on getting families outdoors and/or together. The staff is friendly and helpful. The accommodations are great. Remember: These aren't modern cabins--they were built probably 40 years ago, but they are spacious and comfortable and clean. We drove around the entire camp and couldn't find a cabin without an amazing view of the Mummy Range, so wherever you end up is probably fine.
Also recommended: Ghost Tour of the Stanley Hotel. Spoooooky fun!
We didn't get a meal plan as we made our own food in the cabin, so we can't comment on that.
