“Perfect location, Barbara is an amazing host!”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

We booked five nights and cut it down to three and regretted it. We went to Red Rocks towards the end of our trip and stayed in Boulder but wished we stayed the extra two nights. Barbara is a wonderful host. She is very accommodating and a tremendous cook!

We stayed in Thumbalina's Cottage which is a small one room cottage with a separate bath and a hot tub just outside. It's about a 5 minute walk to downtown Estes Park and maybe a 15-20 drive to the main entrance for RMNP Bear Lake Road.

The breakfasts were amazing and we had plenty to work off during our daily hikes!

Can't wait to go back to RMNP and we plan on staying at Barbara's B&B!

Room Tip: Very quiet area but keep an open mind on the small space in Thumbalina's Cottage (but why else w...

We had a wonderful stay for two nights in Thumbelina's Cottage. It was small, but Barbara has done a great job of using the space. We had a coffee maker, a nice television, nice small bathroom, separate "kitchen" sink & frig, a closet and plenty of room to put our things. Certainly 100% better than staying in a hotel. Everything was very homey, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts, in the main house, were fantastic...... so much food! Great home cooking and we met fun and interesting people around the table. There was ample parking, great location off the main road, lots of wildlife & birds, we felt at home as soon as we arrived. We spent the days in Rocky Mt. National Park, and then came back to Barbara's in the evening for a shower, cozy bed, and looked forward to breakfast in the morning! Highly recommend staying here.

My wife and I stayed a week at Barbara's and felt like family. The B&B is just a few blocks from town but up a hill and is quiet, peaceful, with plenty of birds and chipmunks. I even saw an elk walking down the street. Breakfast is a real treat (hint ask Barbara if she can make you some blueberry pancakes :) and dine looking out over snow covered mountains. The Rocky Mtn National Park is just a short drive with world class hiking trails and more. Easy walk to town for night life, etc, and a very reasonable price.

We stayed over the weekend after Valentines and it was wonderful. The accommodations are very cozy, the amenities are plentiful, the quality is top notch and Barbara's service is amazing! Barbara is constantly upgrading the rooms and services and is obviously committed to her guests and the experience they have while in her care. Be prepared for HUGE, delicious breakfasts!

Room Tip: We stayed in the downstairs room which is very spacious. Never heard any noise and it has inside ac...

Stayed twice in 1 year. Once, in the artist's studio in July and later that October in the room below the breakfast space. Both time it was the PERFECT place to stay.
First time I was on my own for fun before a conference. I had seen the cabins while searching on the Internet (as well as the super-close to town location) and wanted to stay there. Although the studio was "not finished" Barbara said I could stay there for the cost of a regular room. My flight to Co was late getting in day before and I didn't get to sleep until 4:00 a.m. I arrived at Estes Park tired, and soggy (pouring rain); then I saw my room. Cozy! Not ready? It had everything I could want. Opened the window, crawled under the covers and fell asleep to the sound of the river. Woke up rested and ready to fully enjoy the rest of the afternoon & next day.
2d trip was with my mother so the romance factor was lost on us, but the room we stayed in (below the breakfast room) was pampering plus. Now I know why the studio was "not ready." This room had bathrobes and flip-flops in different sizes, an array of bath oils and bubble baths, snacks (including good chocolate!), whatever you could need to make you feel relaxed and taken care of. I enjoyed the hot tub under the stars while mom opted to check out the jetted tub with its own rubber ducky (luxury and humor - what could be better?). Although neither of us usually touch food in the a.m., just coffee, we could not say "no" to all the goodies offered. It has been a bit so I can't remember all but I do recall a cherry jam that refused to be denied.

Room Tip: Roomies but not romance or traveling with spawn? Choose the studio a couple cabins down the road. I...

We feel so lucky to have found this B&B. We stayed in Thumbelina's Cottage, which is detached from the main house and has its own entrance (up about 4 steps or so, if that's an issue). There is a hot tub a few steps away (outside and around the back of the cottage), and the King size bed is super comfortable. Barbara has though of everything - including a Keurig machine and other little surprises. An electric fireplace provides additional heat (or just a nice glowing ambiance), the flat screen TV pivots so can be seen from anywhere in the room, and Barbara keeps an entire collection of DVDs for viewing.

And the breakfasts....I can't say enough good things about the breakfast. Simply amazing. SO much food and everything is so great that it's really hard to choose, and really easy to eat too much. Barbara was lovely and welcoming, and the conversations around the breakfast table were fantastic.

The cottage is up a hill from a main road, but within walking distance of downtown Estes and the river (you can park right near the cottage though - no worries there. The first time we made a reservation, we had a family emergency and had to cancel the day prior and Barbara worked with us, and was so understanding. Everything here is a lesson in going above and beyond. We'll be back just as soon as we can!

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago for three nights as a base for our hiking excursions to Rockly Mountain National Park. We truly enjoyed our time at Barbara's B&B. The host was lovely with lots of insider information about the town and the park. The breakfast was ample and scrumptious! We stayed in Thumbelina's Cottage, which was lovingly decorated and provided a great place for relaxation after our days in the park. Thank you, Barbara!
