Best Western Plus Northwoods Inn

Not a good experience - very expensive for the quality of the room, and also exceptionally noisy. Additionally, the restaurant was mediocre at best.

First we were given the room right by the stairwell, and our mirrors shook any time someone came up or down the stairs. All. Night. Long.

Further, our wing of the hotel was under construction - they are adding a third floor. We were told that this would not begin until 10AM, but starting at 8:30, the [loud diesel] cranes came rolling in, and by 9:30 we had people banging around on the roof. Wasn't real happy as it was, but at least we hadn't planned on sleeping in, and were only staying one night. I can imagine that this would be a deal breaker for a multi-day stay.

Luckily I always travel with earplugs - handy for a bum hotel such as this and/or annoying kids on airplanes. I'd recommend that you bring your own if you plan to stay here, or perhaps just book a different hotel.

Have paid far less for much nicer hotels than this, and although there aren't tons of hotels in Crescent City there are several other options and a few neighboring towns close by.

Room Tip: If you stay here (not recommended in my book), make sure to get a first floor room that is not next...

This Best Western Plus was right on the Highway across from the bay, (walking distance to the water). They are adding a third story and an additional parking lot (2014). We had booked two rooms because the family suites were booked, upon arrival they did have a family situe available. Greatfull the staff offered us the option to change without extra charges. The room was large, in addition to the typical two Queen beds and bathroom area this room came with a small refrigerator, microwave, kitchen sink, prep area, and additional closet space. The room was just what my traveling family needed. We did experience a few small issues that the staff fixed quickly.

Had a great sized family suite which is separate from the main hotel which is great for those without kids. The suite was big enough so that when we had a roll away bed included, there was still plenty of room for all six of us. Thank goodness the bathroom was big so we each had privacy to get dressed comfortably. It was clean and modern. The pool was nice. Breakfast buffet was free at the restaurant on site. It was not the best food, but beats a continental breakfast any day. I would definitely recommend this place for a good nights sleep.

lobby girls very helpful. Very happy with room. Only problem was having to carry our luggage up the stairs. Full breakfast was very satisfactory, I did miss the bacon. Waitress very happy and friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus Northwoods Inn. It was very roomy we had the family suite. The breakfast was amazing with a lot of options. Would defiantly stay here again. Close to the Trees of Mystery which we also enjoyed. Nothing but good things to say about this stay! Thanks Best Western.

This hotel is completely over priced for the quality of the hotel. It reminded us of a old, old motel 6. Bannister rails had been reinforced and left unpainted. There were dents in the wall. Tile was dirty in the bathroom. Furniture was old. Just completely unacceptable for $140.00/night.
