We make sure we stop & have lunch here every time we go through crescent city, they have WONDERFUL fresh fish / fresh catch seafood dishes, love the coleslaw too!! I personally always order the fish and shrimp meals, but my hubby, he likes the burgers, and they do look good, you can also enjoy the views, and all the sea lions laying lazily on the docks, a great place to eat and have a good meal, my hats off to all the cooks, and staff.... A well ran ship!!

This is, by far, our favorite place in CC to eat. We have places further north , in Brookings, that we love, but this is where to go for steak and lobster right here in town. Food is great here, atmosphere is cozy. It gets very crowded during tourist season, but worth the wait. Right on the water.

The seafood at the Chartroom was great--fresh, well prepared, and tasty. My wife and I ordered from the left side of the menu, rather than the dinner selections. She had a crab sandwich, pronouncing it "very good." I selected an item in the "favorites"--prawns, scallops, and cod. The breading was just right--not too heavy. The fish was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the cole slaw. The meal also came with french fries. The price on the right side of the menu was about $9 more for about the same thing, except for a salad and choice of potato, rice, etc. In other words, the food was great and a good value. One reviewer commented that the place was frequented by locals. I regard that as a positive. If the locals won't eat the food at a seafood restaurant along the coast, beware.

Ate here on a rainy Sunday for late lunch/early dinner so it wasn't crowded but started to get busy by the end of our meal. It's fun having the harbor right out the window and seeing the sea lions on the docks. Waitress was attentive and food was hot and tasty but not cheap. We had onion rings for an appetizer (beer battered and thick cut), I had the Dungeness crab melt and hubby had the seafood alfredo pasta with crab and scallops (skipped out on the shrimp). We also got 2 blackberry cobblers to-go which were like a biscuit with blackberry pie filling. They were good but not great...probably would have been better a la mode but we forgot to pick up ice cream at the store like planned. They offer it a la mode at the restaurant. With drinks and tips total was almost $60. Still worth the experience at least once.

Once upon a time this restaurant might have been terrific but progress caught up to it. It sits on a large asphalt acre or two and caters to locals. The food is fine, when warm, but the service is rather slow. Highlight of the location is the collection of sea lions that bath on the dock next to the restaurant, and they are noisy.
