Enjoyed our one night stay. Breakfast was waffles, toast, fruit, cereal selection minimal, juice. Could watch CNN while we ate though! Bathrooms a bit small, with sink outside, which was fine by us. Glad we didn't pay more for a beach view, because I think we had one in our room and it would not have impressed us if we had paid more for it!

We stayed at the Anchor Beach Inn in Cresent City, Ca. in early April 2011. Checked in at 3:00 pm. Upon checking in I went to check on the hot tub that this motel advertized. The door to the hot tub room was locked but a maid who was cleaning rooms nearby unlocked the door. I felt the tempature of the water and it was cold! I then walked to the office and asked the man who had checked us in if the tub was working as he assured me it was when we called to book the room. He told me that, " it (the hot tub room opened at 3:30 and stayed open until 10:00 pm and that it only took 1.5 hours to reach acceptable tempature". I checked it at 7:00 pm and it was still cold! So, we gave up on using the hot tub!
That was'nt the worst! The room we were assigned to had two gueen beds. In the 2nd bed we found pubic hair and dirty sheets. The bed had'nt been changed since the last occupant. We did'nt discover this until 10:00. The office was closed as it indicated on the door sign so even if we had wanted to get a clean room it was not possible.
So we ended up sleeping on one dirty bed. This is the first time in 50 years of staying in motels that we have experienced this degree of uncleaniness! We WOULD NOT recommend this motel!!!

We stayed in different hotels in Crescent City - Ancor Beach is the best! It is right on the beach, you can hear the ocean, and sea lions barking. You can walk to the harbor and watch the sea lions.
The room is big, clean and comfortable, there is a microwave oven and a fridge, the staff is very friendly, and complimentary breakfast is great. The only complaint is that the heater is a little noisy.
Will certainly stay again, and recommend to other people.

This motel is almost right on the beach -- you just have to cross a small road and you're in the sand, with beautiful ocean waves crashing ashore! The sandy beach extends for a couple of miles to the south, making for a great barefoot run in the sand! The room was very spacious -- not cramped like some of the other places we've stayed at, and the complimentary breakfast was great, with toasted bagels, fresh fruit, and a waffle maker. All the rooms have an ocean view, but make sure to get the full-on ocean view and not the sideways ocean view with the trailer park in front. The price was cheap compared to other motels of similar quality. The only downside was the wi-fi. It kept dropping my connection. Furthermore, they only allowed one internet connection, so my wife and I couldn't both use our laptop computers at the same time.

Room Tip: Get the full-on ocean view, not just the partial!

We arrived at the hotel late at night, so didn't get to enjoy the beauty of the ocean to the fullest. But still went down to the beach and listened to the waves, the ocean is so close its like you are on a boat. Beautiful and cozy rooms with comfy beds, bath and shower. A perfect place to stay at for one night or more. On the side of the highway- so you can't miss it. They also give you a 10% discount at a 24 hour restaurant that is located 2 minutes away- they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Anchor Beach Inn offers continental breakfast as well.
Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

We found this hotel to be quite pleasant. The room was clean and large. There was free wi-fi. We had a room looking out onto the beach---careful---some rooms overlook a trailer court! We paid around $70 for the room---it certainly is not worth anything over $100 as some of the other reviewers pointed out.
