When you walk in and look at the extensive menu, you feel like you're in for some great Mexican home cooking. You are wrong. Instead, you are in for a big pile of generic rice, utterly unremarkable tamales, burritos, and tacos, and beans with a soupy consistency that guarantees they will penetrate and permeate everything else on the plate before it gets to the table. The salsas, although essential to provide some heat and zest to the gooey mass of carbos, are too bland to elevate the taste above the level of the gummy textures.

It's hard to imagine where the reviewers who give this place 4 or 5 stars are accustomed to getting their Mexican food. Based on earlier reviews, we anticipated a fine example of one of our favorite cuisines. What we got was a wad of greasy grub. DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH!!!

We had lunch at Perlita's as we do every time we come to Crescent City. I had Chile Relleno & Chicken Enchilada. My wife had a Beef Taco and a Tamale. I normally don't care for refried beans but these were fantastic, so I ate them all. We had a very enjoyable and quite lunch. Like many of the other raters have mentioned, we had fast, friendly and attentive service. The price was very reasonable for a good quality and quantity of food.

The building is quite small and very clean inside. No need to get dressed up here, just casual dinning. This is a wonderful, family operated Authentic Mexican Restaurant.

Perlita's is on Hwy 101 on the southern end of Crescent City. Its not a fancy place, but it serves a wide variety of mexican dishes for very reasonable prices.

We had dinner here during a visit to Crescent City. Loved the food. Even more, we really loved the family run atmosphere and the locals dropping in for Saturday night dinner. There is nothing fancy here, just good food and friendly atmosphere. We will return during our next trip.
