Stayed at this Inn for two nights with my family - 2 adults and children aged 1 and 4. It was cheap, clean and comfortable. Ocean World was next door, which was great for the kids as they could pat sharks there and see a sea lion show. Got a third floor room with two queen beds with a view of the working harbour. Very quiet if you stay on the ocean view side. No road noise whatsoever. No breakfast in the morning, but the hotel gave us a voucher for the Apple Peddler Restaurant which was next door, so that was fine. The lady at the desk gave us tips on where to eat too, along with free vouchers if we went there. Would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the third floor, facing the ocean, in the main building.

Recently spent three nights at the Bay View Inn and found it to be comfortable and restful. The hotel is obviously a locally owned busineess and even appeared to be constructed with local Home Depot materials. The site is new enough to not smell like the typical musty CC hotel and that made the stay very nice for us. The breakfast was typical toast and serve fare, but acceptable. This hotel is within walking distance to several of CC's most distinguished restaurants, beaches and attractions. I give this location two thumbs up.

Basic with no breakfast. Rooms are good size but dated. The security lock on our door was missing. Next to very average cafe. It would be equivalent to a Super 8 or other budget motel. If you stay here request a room facing away from road. Not bad value for money.

We were near the end of our 2 week road trip, we've had some bad hotels & this one was not one of them. We were on the top floor looking towards ocean. Granted you cant see a ton but it was nice to sit on the patio & enjoy the sounds. We could hear the seals & sea lions, it was great!!!
Previous posters mentioned 1) no a/c, we were nervous about that as we always use the a/c units. However, it was not needed, the room was nice & cool & with window open it was perfect!! 2)no breakfast bar; no there is no "in hotel" breakfast but there is a fabulously run restaurant attached the the hotel that is open 24hrs.
We requested a jacuzzi suite & it was well worth it! The room was huge; big, comfortable bed, the tv worked well as did our wifi!!
The 24hr restaurant, The Apple Peddler, was awesome to have so close, we ate dinner & breakfast the next morning. The staff in the restaurant added to the great stay!!!

There is no AC and in summer it was a bit hot in the room. The rooms were clean and everything worked thankfully. There is no breakfast bar. It was an average hotel in a stopover city by the redwoods and the beach.

Past experiences in Crescent City have not been the best, but we were tired, hungry, etc. so decided to take our chances. As we came around the corner onto "hotel row" this was the first place we saw. It appears to have fresh paint, etc. with a restaurant next to it. The rate was very reasonable. I asked for an oceanview room and they put us on the 3rd floor of the annex building. We could certainly see the bay, but the rest of the view wasn't too great. Anyway, the room had obviously been recently renovated and was clean and comfortable. The restaurant had wonderful fresh blackberry cobbler! I would certainly recommend this place for an overnight stay.

Roomy room, actually huge. If checking into this hotel, request the building where the office is as the wireless internet works better in the main building. It was a travel stop, and a wash night, and the washers and dryers were dirt cheap. Haven't seen prices like that on laundry machine in a while. We found out the internet wireless works better in the main building, because while doing laundry, we had no problems, but in the building that is near the restaurant, the internet is non existent.....

Room Tip: ...ask to stay in the main building as the wireless is better there....
