Great walk out to the lighthouse. Be careful of incoming tide, you might lose your way back or have to roll your pants up and walk through some water.

Crescent City isn’t the bright lights and big city, but there are some really interesting things to see.
One of them is the Battery Point Lighthouse, one of two here.
You have to wait until the tide goes out in order to walk across to the tiny isthmus that its located on.
There is a telephone number that you can call to find out when that will happen and the tours start.
A donation is requested, it’s nominal.
Be sure to wear good rubber soled walking shoes, the rocks can be slippery. Take some time once the tide goes out to explore the sand for treasures and walk out on the pier.

This lighthouse is not far off the roadway. The tide was in so I couldn't get too close for the photos. There is a parking lot close to the lighthouse.

This was a wonderful side trip while visiting the Redwoods National and State Parks. Do check the schedule at the various park Redwoods as the opening times vary depending on the tides. The walk is not to difficult over some rocks and up an incline but one can judge this when arriving at the site as to one's ability. We arrived earlier than expected but but we were awarded by the lighthouse keeper's opening up a bit early due to the tide. They were wonderful, provided a great tour, and information. They also have a wonderful little giftshop and museum artifacts.
