“Great for a light dinner!”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

We were looking for something low-key and Seafood Bar is great! Nice bar, good selection, great prices, more of a local feel than at the resorts. Fun decor with tikis and aloha prints. Had the seared poke - delish!

“Great restaurant in "beautiful downtown Kawaihae"”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

I rarely have a meal that "exceeds expectations" but this little restaurant deserves an excellent review. An interesting menu - fresh veggies and "right off the boat" seafood - superb service - and REALLY good cocktails make it a must go on the Island of Hawaii. Our waitress "Aloha" was super! And as reviewer "Marigold 31" said "not the best view ever" - but a wonderful meal anyway!

“Interesting, well executed food”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

Alongside Brown's at the Fairmont Orchid, this is the restaurant I would recommend on the Kohala Coast. The service was functional but come here for the food. We had two seafood dishes, which were both excellent, though the stand-out was the special, which highlighted the Asian influences in this American State. It perfectly showcased the way Hawaiian cuisine pulls from multiple cultural influences. Delicious.

“Great Experience among the industrial harbor!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant is one that fills up at night and has nightly specials such as prime rib. We arrived early enough for happy hour and sat out on the lanai/deck and watched the sunset thru the buildings and ship while enjoying our happy hour cocktails, seafood quesadilla and oyster shooters. Our waitress was really kind and sweet and checked back on us periodically. We had dinner there - steamed monchong fish with mashed potatoes and a Thai black bean seafood dish with a cream sauce. Overall a great experience! Highly recommend!

“Great apps”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

We went for the happy hour ($8 apps, $4 draft beers) and were very pleased with what we got. The coconut shrimp (4 large shrimp) and shrimps shumai (10 pieces) were both excellent with very nice dipping sauces, as was the panko crusted calamari steak. My wife got the ahi sashimi (not one of the happy hour specials) and declared it excellent.
