“Great! Plan an extra day to stop & see it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

We went to visit last month after a few days in DC. We stayed at the Residence Inn in Woodbridge (about 25 min away), it was the perfect ending to our trip. First the design of the building was really cool. It is well run, orderly and clean. The exhibits were very interesting from way back when to current day. You start at one end and work your way around. There was a small area for kids to color a picture which was nice. The store was full of really nice things to buy (you can also shop online). We were able to go upstairs and get a slice of pizza & a drink before leaving - that was also nice, clean & affordable. There was a playground outside that was very well maintained. We ended up staying over 3 1/2 hours and would have stayed longer but we had to go. We look forward to another visit there - it nice to have such a beautiful place to experience the history of the Marines. Well done!! It is free but we left a large donation through purchases at the store :) and some money in the box on the way out :) Oh and the bathrooms were very clean too - I love when everything is clean :) This place was spotless.

“USMC History on display in AC Comfort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

Those who use to visit the old USMC Aviation Museum on MCAS Quantico remember two things: No AC, No Heat. This new museum right off of I-95 south of DC is a wonderful facility showing the history of the USMC, not just aviation. 21st Century style displays in chronological order about the history of this smallest branch of the US Armed Services.

Lots of restrooms, seats, and even a restaurant to welcome families as well as those history buffs to spend a day indulging themselves in the state of the art museum.

“One of the BEST museums!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

This was our second visit; we brought our grandson this time. We were so thrilled when our travel plans presented us with the opportunity to visit again! The artifacts, the memorials, the history ... where does one start?? Please do not miss the opportunity to stop by this museum. I promise that you will not be disappointed!

“Excellent Family Museum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

Located about 30-40 minutes from DC, this museum has something for the whole family. Kid exhibits are interspersed with adult exhibits. Nice wide aisles for a stroller. Everyone came away learning quite a bit about the Marine Corp and its history. With young children, we were able to last about 3 hours; adults could easily spend twice as long there.
