This hotel has a shuttle from the airport which I couldn't figure out how to contact in the airport so I took a $10 cab to the property instead of waiting. The hotel is very small and you enter the rooms from the outside. The elevator is outdoors and this poses some security issues for me. The staff is nice, but the rooms are really dated, the duvets didn't seem so new/clean (the whole reason I stay in Hampton Inns), and the bathroom is just indescribably small. Normally I don't take up much space, but the bathroom door made it harder to use the facilities and to enter the shower. Breakfast is pretty good here, some warm options and lots of other breads, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal etc. Monday through Wednesday they have a little happy hour where they serve wings or fajitas from 4:30-6:00. No drinks are served or offered. This hotel has no sundry shop and limited vending. It does have 1 computer for printing boarding passes. I didn't check out the pool.
Overall, I wouldn't stay here again despite a good rate (nor would I stay in the close by La Quinta Inn which looked terrible). The rooms are just too small and everything seems worn down making the cleanliness test hard to rate. If it weren't for the nice people, this hotel would be empty. Restaurants to consider: Cervantes and The Savoy -- one New Mexican and one fancier but worth it.

While the modern city of Albuquerque is a center of high-tech industry and research, it retains vital connections to the past, such as the ancient rock carvings at Petroglyph National Monument, the historic Old Town Plaza and the trail of vintage neon signs along Route 66 spanning the city. ... more less
