Since there is a Holiday Inn Express just over the road, I would recommend travellers to defer to that hotel. There is no breakfast and the suite we stayed in smelled of cooked food. If you are anIHG rewards (formerly Priority Club) member. Then stay away, they do not recognise you! Very sad that IHG seems to have downgraded this brand. Formerly they had one of the best breakfasts going!

Dear caprontee,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your feedback. As an IHG Rewards member we greatly appreciate your loyalty to our brand and hotel.

I am truly disappointed to hear that your stay didn't live up to your expectations. I am sorry that we were not able to give you the highest level of service and customer care our members deserve. Our staff pay special attention to our members and I can only offer my sincerest apologies for the poor experience and service issues you have encountered.

As a club member, your patronage and support to our hotel are very much important, as such, we are concerned when we fell short of your expectations. I have taken note of your valuable comments and will use these to improve the quality of services we offer. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to welcome you back and allow us to redeem your faith in our award winning service.

Sincerely,

This was a welcome luxury on the way back from a long cross country trip. The hotel is spotless, the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and well laid out. The A/C was perfect, the "pantry" a great way to get food without having to get back in the car. A very comfortable chair would have been nicer if not leather, but that's my personal preference.
It's not designed for travelers as much as for business folks staying for awhile so there is no pool.

Be careful when approaching from the East, if you miss the turn you end up going across a bridge to turn around and get back.

Room Tip: even number rooms face east

Let's set things straight, this is not a luxury hotel, nor does it say it is. If you are looking to be pampered and catered to in every way, read no further. If you are, say, in town looking for an apartment and want free internet, a small workable kitchen, full-size fridge, free faxing, free laundry, and a relatively central location, this is your place. The beds are comfortable, the decor is fine (compared to many of the hotels in the area that look like the bed spreads haven't been replaced since the 70's). When we checked in our a/c wasn't working, so after one night (no spare rooms the first) we were switched to another, no problem. Also, with a AAA discount, this place is cheap. The downside to the rooms is that the wall-mounted (but, thermostat controlled) a/c units are pretty loud, as is the bathroom vent fan.

We spent 12 nights in April. Made our decision based on other TripAdvisor reviews. Albuquerque has mixed reviews on extended stay establishments but this property stood out. Due to the Gathering of Nations event going on during our stay, we could not confirm our full needed days upon reservation, nor arrival. So, we had made other, but inconvenient, alternate reservations elsewhere for the last 4 days of our planned stay in ABQ. However, the friendly staff kept us updated on their occupancy situation and found a way to confirm us for all our days needed well in advance of having to make alternate plans! Fully equipped suites, fast WIFI, nice provisions in the downstairs pantry, housekeeping needs never an issue, solid building, quiet - with no through-the-walls sound transfer what so ever, and even in what we felt was a safe location in the city - Generally in the northeast corner of the intersection of I40 and I25. Only concern was a noisy vibration in the compressor on the AC unit which was a tad annoying at night. Knowing this was not a make-or-break with me, I advised the staff upon checkout instead of during our stay. They agreed to address it asap. As we have family in ABQ we will look to Candlewood for accommodations on our next visit.

Room Tip: Top floor away from elevators are always my choice - good exercise and quiet!

We spent five nights at Candlewood and it was great. They really encourage the idea of "moving in". The kitchen is well stocked to cook a complete meal (which we did). Maid service is only weekly, but fresh towels and supply items (t.p, kleenex) can be had anytime. There were three of us and our son lived on the pull out sofa and was quite content. Having a separate TV for him along with a DVD player and a huge selection of DVD's in the lobby was a bonus. Candlewood also has a pantry that sells items on the honor system. From frozen meals to soft drinks to breakfast foods - it is all there, you just sign and go. Very reasonable and very handy. Also free laundry on site.

I would not hesitate to stay again for an extended period

Room Tip: We had a first floor handicap accessible room (not by request) and it was great!

This is a basic (Budget) long stay hotel. Hallways are well worn but rooms are in pretty good shape and clean. We stayed for a day because they are dog friendly. The check-in clerk was friendly and the General Manager checked me out. The GM asked how everything was and I said ok -- She asked if there was something they could have done to make it better -- good follow-up-- when I said nothing she quickly figured out I was satisfied but was used to a bit more upper scale Motel.

The facility has no breakfast provided and on long stays has maid service weekly; linens etc are avaialbe for exchange on shorter schedule at the desk. Everything in the room worked but the toaster was not very good quality.

Let's be honest. Albuquerque has some not so nice hotels and neighborhoods. I have unfortunately stayed in some bad nasty ones over the years. But I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was in every way. Great, fast, easy check in and clean entry. Super clean halls and free laundry room and even snack selection you pay on your honor. Room was modern and super clean and well equipped with paper towels, dish detergent and coffee in laundry room. Even the parking lot was clean and nicely lit. I don't ubderstand others with negative reviews. I give this place a thumbs up A+ for a job well done.
