Beautiful place with warm and caring staff. The room was excellent; bed was very comfortable.

Room Tip: don't get a room on the second floor unless you ask first if it has a view

I was on a five day trip through New Mexico with my spouse. I chose the hotel based on the trip advisor rankings. Here are my thoughts;

Check In- It was about 8 pm and being a Starwood Gold Member I went to that line. While waiting in line two men rushed to the counter and said that they had to check in immediately. The reservation clerk checked them in and they were assigned to the 8th floor which is the club level. I however was not recognized as a gold member but was checked in by a young lady at the other counter and given in a room on the sixth floor. When we got to the 6th floor none of the keys worked so I had to go downstairs again. Not a good check-in experience. Strike one.

The Lobby- The lobby of the hotel is very nice and modern. There is a bar and several rooms where meetings and conferences are held.

The Room- The room was well laid out and had super comfortable beds. While another reviewer indicated that he was given a free bottle of water the two bottles in the room cost $ 3.00 each. There is Starbucks coffee in the room which is nice. Very nice shower and bathroom layout.

The Sleep- The beds were great and very comfortable. At 8:30 a.m. a maid knocked on the door. While she didn't appear to be on duty she asked if her friend was sleeping there! Not a good experience at all!

Breakfast if you want it is $ 15 for a continental breakfast which we did not use. It is free to gold or platinum members on the top floor.

Internet Downstairs- We went downstairs to use one of the internet stations around 10am in the morning. They have a great area where four computers are laid out. All of them were in use and after waiting about 15 minutes we asked some of the users how long they would be. One man said that he is working on his presentation for the conference and use another! Apparently there was a conference going on. It would be great to have a sign up there limiting use to say 15 or 20 minutes and giving preference to hotel guests.

All and all while the hotel is very well laid out and has great beds I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

We stayed at this Sheraton because we were passing through Albuquerque and needed a place to crash. Primarily a business hotel, the Sheraton offered a low Internet weekend rate as well as great reviews on Trip Advisor. We had no issues with check-in. The entire hotel is non-smoking, which is a big plus. There was a restaurant and coffee bar on the first floor. Everything looked new and nice.

The room itself was big and clean. The bed was comfy but the rest of the furniture looked better than it felt. The room offered a laptop safe and and a 37 inch TV. However, there was no mini fridge or microwave since the hotel is aimed at people on an expense account who would be eating out. Following that pricing logic, there was no free Internet in the room nor complementary breakfast available. And there was even a 10 cents a minute charge for a calling card after the first free hour. At least there was no charge for parking. To minimize costs, we bought a chocolate muffin and took off. I am giving this hotel a rating of a three. While there was nothing wrong with the hotel, we will look elsewhere for that free Internet and food for the same price.

We had a great stay at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown — not to mention that the cost for our room was cheaper than some of the so-called "budget" hotels in town. The staff was friendly and knowledgable, and not only was the bed really comfortable, but the room decor was modern and fresh. Nothing left a bad taste in our mouths, including the food and service at the hotel restaurant.

That being said, we only had two minor issues with our stay:
1) No refrigerator. No big deal.
2) The iron in our room didn't work very well. I'm sure they would have replaced it if we had asked, but we didn't.

All in all, a fantastic place to stay and we will definitely be back.

Stayed here for one night on the way back from the Grand Canyon. Despite the "old Sheraton" signage on the outside, this place has a very modern interior with well-appointed rooms and common areas. We were upgraded to a very nice jacuzzi suite which came in handy given the long drive. As a platinum Starwood member, the recognition was great here. I would highly recommend this Starwood property.

Thank you for your nice comments! The Starwood Frequent Traveler Program is an important part of our guest recognition efforts so I'm glad we were able to reward your loyalty to Starwood with a suite upgrade. Come back again, we love Platinum return guests!
