We were in Albuquerque to attend the balloon fiesta. We booked two nights at the Nativo Lodge due to their web site and some reviews. We try to support native American businesses whenever we have the opportunity. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff were very helpful and courteous. We have two issues. The AC/Heating system was absolutely terrible. The AC system fan would not run unless the compressor was on. If the fan was not running the room became extremely stuffy and very noisy. A very courteous maintenance person came up and looked at the system and told us to run it at 65 degrees and the fan would not shut off. We ran it at that and tried 60 and the system would cycle and still shut off. When it cycled it was so loud it woke us up. As a result, we had two very restless nights. Then there was the sliding glass door. It would not close properly and seal. On our second night we had a storm blow in and the wind came through the door so hard it made the heavy curtain blow way out into the room. The wind blew through the back side of the door like an open window. Here is a suggestion if you stay here. After your sticker shock on the price of breakfast, walk over to the Starbucks for a really good and inexpensive breakfast.

We just spent one wonderful week at the Nativo Inn. The hotel is gorgeous, filled with lots of beautiful native american art & feeling. The best part of the hotel are the members of its employee team. We have never seen so many people go out of their way to be friendly & helpful. Example - When we were at their indoor/outdoor pool and could not find the ice machine, Frank, a maintenance man, went out of his way & interupted his work to get us a huge bag of ice! Its this kind of service that will make us return soon. One suggestion, the rooms are not soundproof enough......

We booked and paid in advance for our stay during Balloon Fiesta. When we arrived, we were told that they gave away our room away for the first night (we arrived at 5:00pm) which was a Saturday night, but we could come back for the next two nights. They paid for our stay at the Hilton that night which was a much nicer hotel. Actually, it was disappointing to return here. First of all, there was used shampoo in our room , a torn bath towel and the walls are paper thin. I heard all of our neighbor's conversations. So, the location was good for Balloon Fiesta, but not the best for everything else. The decor was actually kind of tacky and could use updating. So, based on all the choices in Albuquerque, this would not be on my list as one of them.

We had a very comfortable room in this very quiet hotel. I was glad to see the workout room, even though I didn't have a chance to use it. The ambiance is unique, and probably closer to authentic Albuquerque than authentic Native American. I liked that it didn't look like every other hotel.

The breakfast room was underused and over priced. We wanted a simpler breakfast and another time we would look for some place in the neighborhood.
