“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2009

These folks are the best in town! THe rooms are consistently clean, large, beautifully decorated. The rooms have a southwest theme that works well with the rest of the hotel. The hotel has this great Old Albuquerque feel but the amenities are first rate. From the customer service folks at the front desk to the waiters in the cafe and the engineering staff and even the folks that clena the rooms all have a welcoming attitude. We have never had noise that could not be controlled (we even stayed once next to a wedding party and it was OK).

Staying here is like staying with a large extended family. They really want you to enjoy, relax or allow you to work. The conference facilities are also first rate (although we were here on pleasure this trip).

I have attended a week-long conference at this hotel for three years. Their Cafe Plazuela creates healthy, attractive buffets to serve us quickly and affably; the meeting rooms are comfortable, the guest rooms clean and welcoming.

I have been very comfortable at this hotel. And yes, they have a lovely pool, day and night; very relaxing in the New Mexico warmth.

I was on a recent business trip to Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, New Mexico and the customer service was fantastic. From the time I made reservations and pre payment Lori Youngblood walked me through every step of the way. Melissa with reservations was also very helpful. During my stay I had some meals in Cafe Plazuela where I was greeted by one of the nicest hostess's I have ever met. Her name was Maggie. Each meal she remembered our group and how one of the ladies loved licorice. Maggie would have a handful of candies ready just for one of our girls. She was so pleasant and outstanding in customer service. One of the waiter was John and the manger was great. The crew that served our meals in the banquet hall to the audio group were outstanding. Upon checkout Gabe was so friendly that I want to go back for a personal trip. Thanks for good customer service.

This is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed at. We could hear EVERYTHING through the walls. I think the there must of been twenty girls in the room next to us. My husband went down to the front desk in the middle of the night to see what could be done. The only option was for US to move. They didn't ask the girls to be quiet. If they did, it didn't work. This noise wa always after midnight everynight. Also, we were on the ninth floor. The jacuzzi was below us somewhere. All we heard for three nights was massive partying, and this was with all windows and sliders shut! I heard others complaining when we were in the lobby. I guess it was not that important to the management since we were not part of the convention that was booked their. The room could have been cleaner. Had to call for extra toiletries. They were not replenished when the room was cleaned.

So anyway, my husband and I get away only once in a while. So it kinda sucked. Will

Hotel_ABQ_Management, Front Office Manager at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, responded to this review, May 12, 2009
Hotel Albuquerque would like to thank all Tripadvisor members for providing us with honest feedback. We have already begun taking steps to ensure similar instances do not occur again by reviewing our policies and procedures with our staff. Normally, after 9pm, our procedure in such an instance is to give the guest one warning and if another complaint is made, only the number of guests registered in that room are allowed to remain. Our outdoor swimming pool and hot tub are open from 7am - 10pm, with no guest access after 10pm. I definitely wish to apologize for the apparent lack of concern from Hotel Albuquerque management for guests not attending the conference being held as nothing could be further from the truth. More details regarding this issue would be useful for us as we care deeply about each and every one of our guests regardless of the circumstances that brought them to our door.

We are originally from Albuquerque but have lived in bustling Los Angeles for over ten years. When we come back to ABQ, we ALWAYS stay here because it feels like home. In the summer, we all enjoy the HUGE pool, hot tub and lounge chairs to relax in. At Christmas, the great 20+ foot Christmas tree welcomes visitors in the lobby. Sitting in the overstuffed chairs next to the giant crackling fireplace reading a book is heaven, especially when it's snowing outside!! David at the front desk, night auditor Leslie, Leo in the cafe and Nancy in housekeeping all make sure your stay is THE BEST. We are grateful for our respite there. It is New Mexcio's hidden jewel. (I guess, not now! ;-) )

Recently returned from the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town where I attended a professional conference. The hotel conference facilities were very comfortable, clean and attractive. Thre were a number of great sitting areas both inside and outside near the conference facilities which really increased our enjoyment of the meeting. The only downside to the hotel was that the rooms were a bit dated and some of the furniture was a bit uncomfortable. A good example of this was the desk chair which looked very attractive in the setting, made of rough wood, but was very uncomfortable to sit on. Our room had a balcony, but no chair to sit out on it. The beds were clean and comfortable, but in a double room, we had two double beds. The room was plenty big enough for queens, why didn't they spring for the queen size beds? The TV cabinet was rustic and attractive, but huge for the size of the tv. We would have prefered more counter space along that wall and drawers over the large furniture piece that we couldn't use for storage or room service trays. The pool facility at the hotel looked very nice too, a shame it wasn't open yet.
The location of the hotel is perfect for a conference hotel, right next to Old Town with plenty of restaurants, museums, attractions and small shops for conference down time, and for familiy members to entertain themselves ...and it's right outside the door! no need for a rental car here. Hotel Albuquerque is not the cheapest in the neighborhood, but it is one of the best conference hotels in this price range I have stayed at.

The staff is very warm and gracious. It is located near many attractions and restaurants so there was a lot for the family to do while I attended the conference.
