“Excellent for Conferences”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2014

In my professional career, I have been to over 100 conferences. I can say with ease that the experience provided conference attendees at the Hotel Albuquerque was far superior to any other experiences I have had prior. The staff was polite, kind, friendly, and reliable. Moreover, working closely with Jenaya was a superb experience. She is bright, knowledge, insightful, and can be counted on day or night. It was a professional and warm experience.

Just completed a 5 night stay at this hotel. The hotel was the hotel hosting the conference we attended. We would not recommend staying there. The good is that the bed was fairly comfortable, though getting onto being too soft. However, a stray sewing needle (not ours!) stabbed one of us in the toe when we got into bed. If you are on a higher floor the views are very nice. There were numerous problems with the hotel and the room. The room we were in needed updating badly. The desk chair was not usable. Sitting in it one sunk down so low that the chair was uncomfortable and too low for the desk. The in-room coffee maker was a good idea, but there was no place to plug it in other than the bedside table (there was no plug near the desk) and the carafe for the coffee maker did not reach the button to let the water flow into it. This spelled disaster after the first use since coffee poured out of the basket where it had been trapped. The bedspread and throw pillows were dusty --making us sneeze, The carpet in the room was loose and grimy. The internet in the room never worked properly. Often we could not connect with any device--ipad, iphone or pc laptop. When we could connect getting onto email was slow. Downloading email attachments arduous. Streaming youtube or netflix; don't even think about it. Calling the front desk, better to go down. It took the front desk 7 minutes ringing to answer the phone and then immediately was put on hold. Called in the evening and was told the internet need to be reset. The internet never improved. The next morning we were told that this had to be done remotely. Another time we were told that there were too many people on the network which is why it was slow. WiFi never improved for us. We were given a 15% discount, for two night, but even that did not bring the cost and value into alignment. The manager who dealt with us didn't seem to care; almost as if he felt it was a bother. Overall, not a good experience.

Room Tip: While the amenities at the hotel are not very good, the hotel is next to Seasons which is an awesome...

We recently held an event (Feb 22) for about 130 people at Casa Esencia. We had some out of town guests who all stayed, on a great group rate, at the Hotel Albuquerque. The hotel was fantastic, all of our guests commented on the lovely views. The hotel room reservation staff kept me extremely well informed on our reservation block, I was impressed.

Casa Esencia is hands-down the best event venue in Albuquerque. It's beautiful and special and different from the usual space. All of the guests were so excited the minute they walked in the door...I'm still hearing about the venue AND the food a month later. Everyone staffing the event was really friendly and helpful. We worked with Jenaya and Courtney to plan and they were incredibly positive, helpful and pleasant. We did not have a single negative experience during our entire time planning OR at the event itself. All of our expectations were exceeded in every area!

Great place for conference although they seemed a bit overwhelmed with a recent large conference. Great service, lovely people, but tired rooms: old carpet, really old TV, saggy beds and old bathrooms.

Room Tip: Go high for view

Recently, we held a large three day conference at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town. As always, the staff there are top notch. It starts with a great sales team, and Molly Ryckman definitely knows her hotel. Jenaya Howard, in catering, made sure all my needs were met and our plans for the space were perfect. The banquet team of Manuel Jaquez, Anthony Sanchez and Pete Martinez make your stay a pleasant one. The meeting rooms were setup perfectly, and the meals were prepared and delivered on time, every time! As a professional meeting planner, they are the best!

How can you go wrong when Gaurduno's provides room service at your hotel? You can't! Very fun trip, shopping in Santa Fe, shopping, dining, & a park a short distance from the hotel with workout stations. I recommend this hotel for a stay. Staff friendly, rates are reasonable, suite with balcony only $150 a nite. Not updated yet stylish. Loved the location.

A wonderful location for a Class A hotel, within a short walking distance to the historic 'old town.' The neighborhood is safe and picturesque with a wonderful view of the Sandia Mountains!
The hotel has every accommodation whether it be for a single tourist, family, or a business person attending a convention.
