“Nice hotel with comfortable rooms”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

My daughter and I stayed here for three nights. I had stayed here on a previous visit to Albuquerque. Our room had a balcony with a view of the court yard. Although the bathroom was little small, there was a vanity area outside of the bathroom. The room was comfortable with the exception of the air conditioning unit. It was very loud. After a while you got used to it though. The room included a $30.00 voucher for breakfast at their restaurant which was very good. That made the price of the rooms a good value. There was a refrigerator and coffee pot in the room which was very nice. Overall the room, hotel and staff were very nice. I would recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. We chose the bed and breakfast package.

The location of the hotel was ideal to getting to many places in ABQ. The hotel service was great and the food in the restaurant very good.

I rated this average for a few reasons. When we checked in at 2:45 PM we were told the room I booked ( king size bed with balcony) was not ready, but we could be "upgraded "to a room with two double beds and balcony. Not sure how that is considered an upgrade.?We took the room with the two double beds as we were tired and wanted to relax.
The room size was good, but bathroom was small with one pedestal sink. Also when we checked in I had to remind the desk agent we had the breakfast pkg as you needed vouchers to bring to the restaurant.

Parking can also be a challenge if the facility is hosting a wedding or event. We arrived back to the hotel on Saturday around 5:30 PM and had to drive around the parking lot for 15 minutes until we could find a spot that was not located in the dirt parking lot behind the hotel.

Overall I would stay here again.

This is supposed to be one of the nicer hotels in Albuquerque, but overall it's quite average.

Pros:
- The location is great in Old Town so it's easy walking distance to the restaurants and shops.
- Rates are inexpensive, but that's more of a reflection of the city itself.
- Nice little welcome bag with some water, a granola bar and maps included - nice touch at check-in.

Cons/average elements:
- The room itself is average. Good size though.
- Hotel gym is in a windowless room with bad ventilation - I had to prop the door open with a weight to get enough air circulation.
- Seems to have a slightly trashy clientele/nightclub on site - there were some bachelorette parties and a nightclub (QBar) on the main level - there was tons of pounding music when I arrived around midnight. The lobby was quite loud as a result, but thankfully my room was on the opposite end. I'm not sure how soundproofing is for the closer rooms.

The decor seemed stereotypically southwestern. Overall, an average hotel.

Dear KatieCanada, we appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback of your recent stay with us. Our location is probably one of the favorite aspects of the hotel as it provides an extremely convenient walk to the historic Old Town as well as great views of the Sandia Mountains. We are glad to hear you were able to take in the sites and had a smooth check in. As a hotel striving to always meet standards we are constantly updating our property and are currently working on improving our fitness center. Our hotel does host Casa Esencia on Friday nights as well as the QBar, and they do bring in a good size crowd. It is definitely a popular spot at night time as well as a great spot to relax and enjoy the southwest charm of the property. Thank you once more for your review and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to enjoy our fantastic location and deluxe accommodations.

Everything about the stay was excellent. All the staff were well trained and friendly. The room was clean and met all our needs without having to ask. We ate breakfast at the restaurant both days and our every wish was accommodated. Aaron served us and when I said keep the coffee coming he was right there with a smile. The next day when he saw us come in he was half way to the table coffee in hand but the time we sat down. The service he provided was exceptional. He and Leo even gave us directions to the sites we wanted to see. It advertises being within walking distance of old town and it really is. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Hotel staff do not seem to care about up keep of rooms... no one ever came to address my concerns or switch rooms, although contracted technicians just showed up at the door to ask when I was checking out so they could fix carpets!

Having read a couple boot reviews on here I was a bit worried - I needn't have been. We arrived at 1pm knowing we were early and expecting to be asked to wait - on the contrary after a couple of minutes wait they checked us in and because we had to wait they have us a complementary upgrade! The lobby and public areas are lovely, spacious with large inviting sofas. The rooms are a little tired but the hotel is currently in the process of upgrading them all - they were clean and a good size. We ate in the hotel restaurant (15% discount for guests) and the good was lovely, in fact the only problem was it was too much - my advice would be one starter between 3 or 4 and make sure you're extremely hungry when you go (I can recommend the Margaritas!). We spent a pleasant afternoon at the pool, it wasn't huge, but was more than big enough for the people using it. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely go back

Had a nice stay at Hotel Albuquerque in July. Room and staff were very nice and helpful. I had to cut my stay short and the front desk was very helpful. I was appreciative of how they treated me and worked with me in my particular situation. I will stay here again because of that service :)

Room Tip: Balcony rooms are very nice and have a great view
