We were planning a long anticipated trip to New Mexico (my fiance has never been...) when we stumbled upon the Andaluz online. From the moment of our arrival we were charmed by the warm, engaging greetings by the smiling, friendly staff (who are eager to please!)! The hotel itself is a renovated, madeover Hilton (the first in New Mexico) and still retains the original carved wood details in it's cielings and doors as well as original murals depicting early New Mexico Spanish and American settler history. The lobby is spacious, comfortable and colorful and smacks of Spanish/Mexican accents (replete with repeating arch ways). The hotel offers a rooftop bar with views of downtown and distant mountains. We are anticipating staying again in 2015 but, this time for a longer period and we will likely spring for a larger suite ( the rooms are comfortable and well appointed)!
