I have stayed in the Andaluz twice, each time for Cinco de Mayo weekend. It is fun and festive without being overwhelming in terms of noise and rowdiness. The best bar in the area is in this hotel, with a great open air deck with fireplace and canopies.

I am happy to stay there again and the rates are very reasonable for the quality.

The hotel is situated downtown Albuquerque, where it is difficult to park, luckily Hotel Andaluz has a free valet parking which is really appreciated.

The room was very nicely decorated, the bed of high comfort, the bathroom, also well decorated, above average sopa/shampoo... High end robe.

Only deception was the room-service we had to call several times and wait over 1:30 min. to get our drinks, and food, to apologize they offered us the drinks and a second round, so that was a nice gesture.
The food (room service) was very good and not expensive at all.

I would recommend it if you have to stay downtown Albuquerque.

Having 2 nights at the hotel - fabulous food, surroundings, customer service we checked out and cleared our bill.

Upon checking our bank statement we found an additional $105.60 had been deducted. Querying this amount prompted a swift reply back BUT the explanation was $50 hold PER NIGHT is held for incidentals. Once the Bank releases the funds we get the $105.60 holding fee back, which could take in excess of 10 days.

How disappointing this was not mentioned prior to our booking, on arrival or departure.

Upon checking Tripadvisor 'afterwards' we realise we were not the only people who have found out too late. So disappointing to spoil a wonderful 2 days.

Dear Ian P,
Thank you for the time taken to provide a review of the Hotel Andaluz.
I am pleased that your overall experience was favorable but am concerned our team did not provide clear instructions on the debit card hold times. Please reach out to me directly at 505-923-9050 or if email is more convenient msanchez@hotelandaluz.com and we will contact your banking institution on our end to ensure the hold is released swiftly.

I only wish we had had the opportunity to connect in person while on property as I am confident we could have addressed this in an expedited manner. It is common practice for Hotel's to place a hold on guests debit / credit card usage but we certainly should have been more clear in this regard.

I look forward to speaking with you Mr. Phillips and thank you for your patronage and time in providing our team with your feedback.

Sincerely,
Monica Sanchez

About six months ago I took a friend to eat here for her birthday. We had such a blast. The food was amazing and the staff made us feel welcome! I couldn't wait to come back. I made reservations for this weekend for my husband and I. Nothing really impresses him but I was excited. From the time we arrived till we checked out the staff was friendly, warm and welcoming. We spent time at the roof top bar and the bartender Victor was awesome! I walked away with a new favorite drink. We then ate dinner in the resturant and had a wonderful server that helped us make some great dish choices. We then retired to our room where it was comfortable and roomy. Love the hand soap. We had so much fun and relaxed. My husband was impressed and that's rare. Thanks for the great time.

I travel significantly (appx. 330,000 miles annually), but haven't been through ABQ in a long while. Thankfully my staff was on top of their game and had me stay at Hotel Andaluz. Decor - very classy and comfortable. Location - perfect. Room - astonishingly comfortable. What haven't they thought of??? Staff - Two words: Damion Bradford. A true care taker and a man of his word. Went the extra mile several times just to insure my comfort. Damion's care was on par with the Fairmont's staff (http://www.fairmont.com/dubai/) in Dubai.

Somebody here knows how to run a hotel and hire good people.

Beware of the valet service at Hotel Andaluz in Albuquerque NM. While my car was in their care, valuables were stolen out of it. The hotel is beautiful and the service adequate but just beware if parking with the valet. Please share

Dear Merv L,

The Hotel Andaluz team is thankful for your feedback however it remains the Hotel’s position that your comments are inaccurate and cannot be substantiated. The Hotel management has had numerous verbal and written discussions with you on this issue prior to the Trip Advisor posting in a proactive attempt to address your claims regarding lost items from your vehicle. Yet you reference none of the Hotel’s direct follow up with you in the posting.

As you know you were unable to provide the hotel with any receipts supporting such items existed in the vehicle. If they did exist in the car it is a common practice when valet parking a vehicle to not leave items a guest claims to be of high value in a car and this is stated as a reminder on the valet claim check.

We take such a claim very seriously since this has not occurred previously, as such the security team spent several days reviewing all our surveillance video in this area of the parking location and interviewed each staff member on duty. The Hotel Andaluz was never able to confirm this occurred on site during your visit.

However, as a gesture of goodwill the hotel made an exception in addressing your claim with no receipts or no record of occurring by offering reimbursement for such items which you responded favorably to such a resolution.

To then blame the Hotel’s team for stealing items after having no receipts, nothing in the investigation to support this occurred and the hotel still reimbursing you is inaccurate and not consistent with the Andaluz’s consistently high level of service.

Thank you for your time,
Monica Sanchez
