“Great B&B for families”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

This historic B&B is a good choice for families or large parties as they have some condos behind the main building that can sleep 4-5 or more. The host was charming and helpful and we enjoyed the evening wine and cheese gatherings. The townhouse had plenty of room and was a nice place to retire to after a day of sight seeing.

All the goodies you expect from a 5-star hotel except for an exercise room and chlorinated swimming pool. Our room was exquisite, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was prepared by our delightful hostess, Tammy Walden, and was as good as it gets. Next time near Albuquerque we will check in with Tammy.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast food is excellent. In fact, the reviews of the breakfasts actually understate how good the food is. The rooms in the main house are well-decorated and cleverly incorporate showers and necessary rooms where none previously existed. Parking is plentiful. We stayed in one of the apartments, and were pleased by the quiet surroundings. It is convenient to downtown and, for the adventurous, within walking-ish distance to several attractions. The price per value is excellent.

What a glorious way to end a New Mexico vacation to Albuerque. We were able to request and stay in the downstairs king bedroom which is just off the breakfast/reception area, but you would not have known how close we were until you opened the door. The B&B is close enough to walk to Old Town, but driving around is not a problem. Our room also fronted on the common porch which we used infrequently as the temps even at night were in the 70s (hot spell & no rain in June). The breakfasts were over the top and usually were our main meal until the evening dinner. The hosts were friendly, informative, and I shared a common passion of education with one of the hostesses--teachers will always talk together! There is internet connectivity, understandably small bathrooms (it is, afterall, an OLD rennovated home), wonderful beds, afternoon wine and cheese and fruit, cookies--I would definitely stay here on a return trip.

Room Tip: There are also townhouses, not historic, but better for families with all the amenities. Otherwise...

We loved our stay! My two sisters and I stayed for two nights in June and we wished we could stay for more. The house is immaculate and comfortable. we actually stayed in one of the two townhomes located behind the house. It was spacious and clean. I felt right at home. The breakfast in the morning was spectacular and on our last night since we had to leave early in the morning we were given a continental breakfast in to go bags. In the evening afternoon snacks are served with wine and refreshments. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch. Thanks for such a fabulous stay!

Room Tip: All the rooms looked comfortable!

Not a 5 star, but a very good 4 star with wonderful linens & a great breakfast. Terrific value - we paid $99 plus tax. The owner is charming & goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable.

It really doesn't get much better than this when traveling across country if you like B&Bs.

What I mean by not being 5 star is that there aren't luxurious amenities like swimming pool & spa. But if you can live without these you won't be disappointed.

We love B & B's. We love restored historic homes. We love The West. So imagine how much we loved this warm, welcoming, lovingly restored home in Albuquerque. We would seriously make a special trip to Albuquerque just to revisit this beautiful home-away-from-home. Maryanne greeted us with freshly baked cookies and a delightful welcome. Our room on a hot summer's day was refreshingly cool and meticulously tidy. We loved the vintage wallpaper so much we took pictures and now will begin a hunt to find it for our own home. Breakfast was abundant and so delicious that we purchased some of the homemade granola to take home to our 24-year-old daughter. If you're looking for rocking chairs on the porch, a quiet rest for the night, yummy casseroles and hot coffee in the morning, you've found it when you pull up to 701 Roma Ave. NW. We can't recommend this B & B highly enough.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor, facing the street. It was a lovely and quiet room. The large master s...
