My daughter and I were looking for a mid-winter getaway and wanted to find a destination with historical character -- not just cookie cutter chain lodging. The Bottger Mansion in Old Town Albuquerque was the perfect choice! From the personable and helpful hosts to our charmingly old fashioned, sunny and immaculately clean and comfortable room, to the gourmet breakfasts and homemade baked goods -- we felt completely pampered and on a very reasonable budget. There are many lovely antiques, historical photos and details in the Bottger Mansion to appreciate and the historical district, shopping, great restaurants, museums and parks are only a short walk away -- lots to explore with no car needed. I'm so happy we found this jewel of a B&B!

We stayed at the Bottger Mansion for two nights. As their website states, it is a jewel in the crown of Albuquerque bed and breakfasts. It is slightly off historic route 66 next to old town. Traffic noise was minimal during the day and non-existant in the evening and at night. There are many good things to rave about including the beds and sheets, the decor, the location, and the architecture of a well preserved historic house. However two things that stood out for us were the quality of the breakfasts and the attitude of the hosts. The breakfasts were to die for. You left saying you need to take those recipes home with you. In our opinion the best part about staying at the Bottger Mansion was that the hosts, Steve and Kathy made you feel like vacationing family from out of the area. They took care of everything from printing boarding passes while we were out sight seeing to providing breakfast a little early so we could make a flight. In all of the bed and breakfasts we have stayed at, they are at the top of our host list.

Accompanying my husband on several business trips to Albuquerque, I found the Bottger Mansion to be the best place we've ever stayed in Albuquerque. Chain hotels are a bit boring when on your own so much of the day while your spouse attends meetings. Steve and Kathy are welcoming and warm and the Victorian mansion is beautiful. Great care is obviously taken to maintain this first class home. Breakfasts are gourmet fare and Steve and Kathy create an atmosphere which lends itself well to easy conversation with other guests if you like. In the dining area, cookies and cake and coffee are almost always available during the day. The mansion sits right on a main street of Old Town near the plaza and it's an easy walk to all the unique and quaint places there. Bottger Mansion was everything I'd hoped it would be and lots more. Highly recommended.

The Bottger was a good choice for us. It is very conveniently located for walking and driving excursions; it is tastefully decorated; our room (Violet Christine) was comfortable; breakfast is delicious; and the hosts are hospitable and helpful. Too bad a major street is so close but noise was not a problem.

We had a wonderful stay as well as an excellent breakfast, special dietary needs were met, Steve and Kathy also made dinner reservations at a fine dining restaurant for our party of 5. They took care of all our needs, like being at home.
Thanks Steve and Kathy for a wonderful B&B experience!!
