Description: Whether you want to spend a romantic night out with a loved one or want to enjoy a fantastic meal with friends, family, we are truly the premier Japanese restaurant in town. Our teppan chefs provide a unique dining experience for all our customers, and that is the reason why we are such a popular dining attraction locally over the decade. Teppan, also known as teppanyaki, is a traditional form of Japanese cooking that involves cooking an assortment of chicken, steak and seafood items on an iron grill, you are able to eat them straight off the grill, you get to watch the food to be made right in front of you. There is no better way to enjoy a meal with family and friends than by coming to Azuma Sushi & Teppan and watching our teppan chefs and the talent sushi chefs work their magic.

I am from the Pacific Northwest and have grown accustomed to delicious fresh sushi. Visiting in ABQ and craving struck decided to test my luck for lunch at Azuma. I sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chef was most entertaining, witty, charming and funny. I ordered sashimi and was pleasantly surprised by the portion but more importantly the freshness. Delicious.

We eat at Azuma Teppan on our mini vacation.
My wife has a shrimp allergy, and the chef cooked hers first, so not to mix anything.

The food was outstanding.
The cost was ok (not cheap, but never is).
It is one of the best hibachi's we have been to.

YUM YUM.

I have been to many Teppan grills before- this rates poorly compared to what I have come to expect. Soup was served cold. One of our party had a shrimp allergy and chef made NO effort to accomodate by keeping the shrimp away from her food. The staff were not very friendly, the chef made no effort to entertain. He gave half of our steak away to the other diners who did not order steak.
Keep driving a few blocks down the street to Hayashi

Went expecting a fun hibachi experience. It was overpriced for what we got. Unimpressed with the chef. Had children at the table and he must have had a horrible day he did no extra stuff and not even any fun. Bad attitude and just get job done feel. Next hibachi will look elsewhere

Lunch today was just average and we had hoped for better. The inside is nice and it's clean. Service was good. Food was a disappointment since it was rather on the bland side and portions on the small side. My wife ordered a steak teppan meal and she had every expectation to believe that she was going to get a steak or slices of steak. Instead she received tiny pieces of steak mixed in with chopped vegetables to where it was hard to find the pieces of meat. My salmon was tasty but was a very thin slice. The soup was warm, not hot. The vegetables and rice seemed pretty generic. All in all, the food was not very authentic.
