We came here just stopping by after Old town for some bakery goods on our way home. Staff are very welcoming with complimentary biscochito (made with some blue corn!) offered while you look around and decide. We chose a warm out-of-the-oven Chile bread and 2 empanadas (sweet potato and apple).
The Chile bread is huge and had a lot of red chili throughout as well as some cheese – but not too much cheese. It’s a light airy bread – not dense/packed with whole grains- so the style is good for toasting for sandwiches, burgers, soaking for French Toast, and the guy taking care of us said he makes croutons out of it – good idea!
The empanadas were delicious - light pastry and good filling on both.
