If you are looking for a simple, rustic place for a sandwich or a pizza, this is the place to check out. My wife and I stopped here for dinner after attending the New Mexico Bowl for a pizza, and we weren't disappointed. We had a supreme pizza and beverages, and the food was very good, and the atmosphere was simple and quiet. It's a well-known place for locals to dine in. There is also a bakery that featured cookies, and cakes for sale. You'll get a free cookie sample to try. Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, and we would come back again.

My wife and I found this place a few years ago when the local paper ran a short story on the bakery. We really enjoyed our first experience and since then the place has really expanded and gotten even better. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. We've only ever eaten pizza with deserts and have yet to experience anything less than stellar food and service. We're big fans of the Golden Crown's Combination pizza on green chile crust (though the blue corn crust is great too.) They hand out biscochitos freely and their empanadas are fresh and tasty (love the cherry and lemon!). A nice break from the chain pizza joints.

Our first experience was ok. The pizza order was wrong, we wanted the green chile cheese crust, didn't get it. The pizza itself was ok. The biscochitos and empanadas were good. If I'm in a pinch, I'll go back, but I won't make a conscious effort.

Stopped in for some tea and biscochitos. Left with four dozen. This place is crowded, funky and obviously beloved by the locals. It's hard to see how it's the second best restaurant in Albuquerque so I suspect price plays a role. Worth a stop.

Not only is the pizza great; this this the best place in town to get biscochitos. And if you don't know what that is, they will give you a free sample with your pizza.
