“ENob Secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

Los Equipales is one of the hidden secrets of the Nob Hill/ENob area. Located in a renovated bank building across the street from Highland HS, you will find some of the best real Mexican dishes anywhere - not just chili and cheese enchiladas here folks. Fresh seafood and great service. Reasonable prices. We have been going there since it opened and have never been dis-appointed. I recommend the boracho garlic snapper...

“Los Equipales Restaurant, Albuquerque NM”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

Los Equipales Restaurant, Albuquerque NM. This restaurant is located in a former drive-through bank building; you will notice its unusual shape when you arrive. It is one block south of Central Avenue, a main boulevard in the east side of Albuquerque. Washington is a cross street just a half block from the restaurant. We have eaten there about a dozen times. It specializes in Mexican-style seafood. My wife likes the camarones (shrimp dishes), but I usually order a specialty dish: mole poblano. It is a dark spicy sauce, most often served with chicken or other meat dishes. We lived in Puebla Mexico for a year while teaching there at a university; mole poblano is the local specialty. This sauce is served on many dishes, even over eggs. SB

“Great seafood, a true hidden gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

It is not in a touristy neighborhood and not located where most will just happen to drive by. Los Equipales is truly worth a try. The seafood dishes are the best, though the mole is to die for also. The service is excellent. We have been here for date night, family dinners, and I even had my holiday work party here. The owners are happy to answer questions about ingredients or accommodate special dietary needs. The atmosphere is relaxed and beautiful. Highly recommended for any occasion.

“Outstanding authetic Mexican fare”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2013

This is an amazingly good restaurant - comparable to some of the very good ones you find in Mexico. The sea food is excellent and so are the side orders of enchiladas and guacamole. The prices are very reasonable and on a Thursday night it was not crowded at all. I would encourage anyone interested in tasting real Mexican cuisine to eat here. You will enjoy it.

“There's more to Mex than guacamole, beans and cheese?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2012

I discovered this long-established small place on a business trip, while seeking something different from the steakhouses and traditional mexican restaurants my colleagues frequent. We very much enjoyed the evening there. It's hidden away behind high walls, has an understated, casual and uncrowded atmosphere and unpretentious decor (including the traditional bucket seats for which the restaurant is named). Service is attentive with with smiles and an obvious eagerness to please. The menu offers rarely-seen but nicely explained ethnic specialties ("corn mushroom" fungus was new to me, certainly), a wine list that introduced us to a fine Spanish white, and wonderfully fresh, well-prepared and -presented seafood (I had a shellfish mix over poblano rice). First time I can remember walking away from a Mex-cuisine meal feeling comfortably satisfied rather than "stuffed".
