“Get away from the city and feel like you're in the country”
Review of ABQ BioPark Zoo

The Rio Grande Zoo has been created to feel like you're in a park; it has open areas, a lot of grass and trees. I like to go to the zoo just to get away from the city itself. They've tried to make the animal habitats as real to the natural landscapes as possible.

For a city the size of Albuquerque and given its location, the breadth and depth of the exhibits was amazing. Visited the Mecca of Zoos in San Diego last Summer and I can tell you that this Zoo in Albuqurque has studied SD Zoo well. Really, a delightful place to visit.

I really wanted to visit, but the train was broken, so I did not get a chance to see the zoo. :-(

Not so huge as to be exhausting but just right. Wonderful habitats for the animals, a lovely huge lawn by a lake with a band shell, a cool play area for kids, a train. The city got it right with the wonderful zoo and the rest of the biopark.

Albuquerque really does have one of the best zoos around. Quite a bit of thought went into each and every exibit, and it shows.
