The cafe has a nostalgic feel of a Route 66 era. Conveniently located off the Interstate and situated within walking distance of Quality Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Ramada Inn, they offer a menu like the old soda fountain establishments of yesteryear. They are well noted for their shakes and malts and offer desserts that taste like homemade. If you like hamburgers and fries, this is the place for you. Hamburger patties are made by hand and not pre-made. They offer a large selection of toppings to go with that burger with a deli pickle spear and your choice of regular potatoe or sweet potatoe fries and a complimentary bowl of pinto beans with green chili.

While visiting family in Albuquerque over the years, we always treat ourselves to at least one breakfast or lunch at The Owl, and it is always delicious and very filling. I love their home fries with onions and peppers, the right way to start the day before hiking the Sandias or the Petroglyph trails.

I picked this cafe because of it's convenient location to my hotel. It had prompt and friendly service. Average food at ridiculously large quantities and great tap beer! I had both dinner and breakfast there... Ate a lot of yummy green chili sauce!

Two orders for dinner: 1) Cheeseburger and onion rings. Hamburer patty was extremely thin and dry. Onion ring very thin and greasey but plentiful; 2) Tamale platter -Very spicy (hot) with run-of-the mill refired beans, and soggy spicy Spanish rice. Did order a vanilla shake to quite the capsacin "heat" of the spicy food. Shake was good but expensive.

Definetely recommend for people you dislike.
