“Outstanding staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2010

We were to have stayed at this motel for 1 night--but ended up there for 3+ because of car trouble. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful--giving great suggestions for places to eat and things to do. They worked with us as we had to extend our time in ABQ The rooms are very large with good lighting, clean and good beds. The hotel and its grounds are very attractive. The hotel caters to dog owner without impinging on the non-dog owner. Great set up outside for dogs to use--kept very clean and nicely done. Dog biscuits always available and chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon for guests. The motel is well located to I-40 and I-25 plus University of New Mexico.

The ABQ La Quinta Mid-Town Suites is our favorite stop from DFW to Colorado with out dogs. We stay at La Quinta b/c of the dogs but would stay at this place b/c of the location and comfort and friendliness regardless.
There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance and many, many more within 3 - 5 miles. Easy access to 25 and 40 also.
The rooms are motel quality on the plus side. And there is a couch and chair and coffee table. It isn't business quality but it is certainly worth the effort. My wife and I love it and stay in this particular location twice a year.
Take that back...4 times a year. Twice in the spring (up and back) and twice in the fall (up and back).
Book ahead if you are going during the 3rd week of march. ABQ hold the State High School Basketball Tourney and ALL the hotels fill up...

We were driving cross-country (Nevada to Ohio) right after Christmas, 2009 and decided to stay in this La Quinta because of the reviews. We were very happy we did, and we were so pleased we stayed again on our way back to Nevada 3 wks later.

First, we had two small dogs with us, and the staff was very nice to them. They have a crock of dog biscuits on the front desk. In addition, the hotel has a secured courtyard for pets. *That* is something we really appreciated especially when letting the dogs out at night.

The breakfast was typical of most hotels of this type, although I should add that they had hot eggs and meats that were actually cooked and not just warmed up, as well as waffles. In other words, the eggs weren't the egg patties that so many other hotels offer.

The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable, as were the beds. I bring my own pillow, but my husband said that his was fine.

While there is no restaurant attached to the hotel, there are several within walking distance.

We travel with the dogs a lot, and any time we go through Albuquerque, we'll be sure to stay here.

I want to point out that I appreciate a few things about La Quinta:
1- They are pet-friendly.
2- They have free wi-fi.
3- They have updated the old La Quintas in an effort to make them more comfortable and NICE.
4- Their free breakfasts aren't a sad attempt at feeding travelers.
5-They are, for the most part, clean.

Clean room. Friendly staff. The location of the hotel was odd...but close to everything. The breakfast was average but the staff worked very hard to keep everything well stocked. The eggs and gravy were a bit to be desired. We had a wonderful stay and would certainly think about staying there again.

The rooms are very nice. There is no room service. The handicap bathrooms are so lacking in self, chair, cabinets and needs for those with a disability.
We requested ahead of time, a recliner, My Mother had to sleep in a desk chair , we had to make that safe for her as not to fall, until our last few days there. They were rude and didnt care about my Mother's needs.
They lack education in the needs of the disabled. This was an absolute nightmare for everyone.
Never again.

The rooms were nice, but the towels that were left by staff smelled badly of cig. smoke. We are a non smoking family, my daughter has a bad allergy to smoke and even the smell of it puts her into a caughing fit. When we mentioned it to the staff (mind you this was after we paid, so we were not looking for a discount) we were treated very rudly and they said we caused the smell. we were woken up to dogs barking, this is not a 90.00 a night hotel! A very small indoor pool, the hot tub was not working.
