“Decent Burger With a Good View”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

High Finance sits at the top of the Sandia Peak Tramway. Tickets alone are $20 each to get to the top. That makes it a very pricey lunch date. That being said, once you're up top, the view is good & the food is okay. It took a LONG time to get our food, but it wasn't anything to complain about once we received it. The decor is very dated. It looks like an old ski lodge (which I guess it kind of is).

I'm told that if you make dinner reservations, the tramway ride up is free. I can imagine that the view at night with the city lights would be much improved. It could make for a decent dinner out if the food is of equal quality to their lunch menu. The name may be High Finance, but the food is certainly not fine dining quality. It's more on par with a Chili's or Applebee's.

“Great View and Fun Experience, But That's IT”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

First off, there is a great view to be had every direction you look. Riding on the tram was exciting, but not for those who fear heights.

The food was average, which was disappointing because we thought that this was a fine dining establishment with a reputation. The menu was ordinary and the wine list was left a lot to be desired. To be on the safe side, just order a steak.

The service was good and the waitress was very pleasant and accomodating.

“NOT WORTH IT”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

View is fantastic and after hiking or snowshoeing restaurant and a drink seems like a great idea. Sadly this place is outdated and overpriced. We have lived here for 20 years and have many overseas visitors who want to make the trip to the crest. We have learnt from experience that it is not worth attempting to go inside High Finance. The bar staff have continued to be rude and condescending. If you only want a drink you are not allowed to sit by the window even if the place is deserted. You have to fight to even get service. We have commented to management about this on a number of occasions! The food is average and overpriced. Take the tram to the bottom and have a great margarita and dinner at Santiago's. It won't break the bank and the views are just as spectacular.

“Great view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

You really cant beat the view. As the only restaurant at the top of the mountain you don't have a choice of where to go if you want anything to eat or drink. After taking the tram up and wandering around for a bit we wanted to have a drink so we went in. I can not comment on the food or even the food menu because we only had drinks. The restaurant and bar area are nice, with pretty dark wood. Our bartender was friendly and the drink menu was great. Lots of fun drinks for the ladies! You are also able to pour your drink into a plastic glass and take it outside on the deck.

“Go for a drink, perhaps some bar food, NOT dinner!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

As a long time Albuquerque resident, my recommendation is: by all means enjoy the tram up to the peak, and if you want to relax and enjoy the view from the comfort of High Finance - go for it! But just order a drink and maybe some nachos or some other appetizer, DON'T eat dinner there. There's a reason they call it "High Finance". It's way too expensive, not good, definitely not worth it. All the locals know you go there for drinks and appetizers, not dinner. If you really want dinner with a view, or you're desperate/hungry while you're on the mountain, take the tram back down and eat at Santiago's at the base of the tram. Still pricey but not like High Finance and much better food. Or spend a lot less and stuff yourself family style with delicious ribs and fresh bread at the County Line, at the intersection of Tramway and the road to the Tram.
