We used to eat here as grad students at UNM. Kelly's is a popular spot with UNM students and has an outdoor patio for watching people and being seen. The food is ok. Most people go for the beer and scene.

We got off our flight and we were hungry. Our friends drove us to this place for lunch. We sat outside to eat. We had the fajitas which were ok. The service was slow but they were friendly. The prices were fine.

This place had high ranks on the BringFido website. But it is not pet friendly. Not a single water bowl in sight. Nobody will stop you if you happen to walk in with a dog. But the management will go out of their way to make you feel unwelcome. They refused to turn on any of the outdoor heaters for us even when another table had 2 already on and the hostess had told us they would send someone to turn it on. Nobody came and after asking our waitress about it she said that the manager told her no more heaters would be turned on. When we requested to speak to the manager he blamed the hostess and our waitress and said that "the guy that turns them on" had left for the night. And that he would have liked to get us a table inside but since we had a dog, it would not be possible.
This place closes at 2 AM and we are to beleive that after 9 PM on a Friday there is nobody left in the place that knows how to light a heater?
We had to eat quickly since our food was getting cold. The bison burger was ok, but on the small side especially since they charge extra for cheese or green chilies. The pozole was disappointing (maybe that's why they spell it with an S, so they can make it however they want) there was a giant blob of cheese floating around in it. Zero flavor and greasy with a couple of strands of beef.
The grand finale came when the check arrives and the waitress brings a portable credit card terminal. She runs the card and told me to choose from the preselected 18% or 20%. When I used to wait tables I would never have expected anything above 10% for carrying 2 plates and beers, tips are based on service, and the service here leaves much room for improvement.
She got her 18% but needless to say she did nothing to earn it.
Save your money and choose a place that at least puts some effort into customer service.

Visited Kelly's Brew Pub after a drive from El Paso. Kelly's is in the middle of Albuquerque so is off the highway. It was worth the visit.

Their beer is incredible and the wine is good but the wine servings are very small and too expensive for what you get.

The food is worth the visit and the outdoor setting is quite nice in the evening. On a main street but good for people watching.

Would return but probably there are other places worth exploring.
